No way Sandler's done better than Bill Murray. Sure Sandler's been in a lot of movies...BUT THEY ARE ALL THE SAME...and the only reason he gets work is because he owns a production company!!!

Myers has been impressive in terms of box office performances--and the fact that his SNL-inspired movie franchise (Wayne's World) has done better than all other SNL-inspired movies combined.

Julia Louis Dreyfus. Seinfeld = success.
She's an important part of one of the most successful and popular TV shows in history.

That's ridiculous, a few of his first movies the characters were somewhat similiar, but have you been to the movies since, say, 1999?

I'd say Adam Sandler, considering he's young and still has alot of time to make more, although Will Ferrel was, in my opinion, the greatest SNL actor ever, and is even newer to the movie market.

I voted for Bill Murray.

As an actor, Sandler probably gets paid the most film to film.

But Mike Meyers probably has made more total. He created the Austin Power character, helped write the script, and is a producer on the movie-- that means he gets a piece of the box office, both domestic and foreign, as well as DVD sales, soundtrack sales, all the t-shirts and dolls, etc.

Well, that's wierd. You don't have Steve Martin on your list and he isn't on your source page but he was on SNL.

I want to vote for him.

Think people forget how huge Eddie Murphy was in the 80s....a top 3 star. Though he has had some huge duds since, he is still putting out successful movies on a semi-regular basis (even if it is mostly family crap now). I'd put his box office history against anyone on that list.

Eddie Murphy has had the biggest career by far (Beverly Hills Cop series, 48 hours series). Mike Myers in 2nd because of the Austin Powers series. Then probably a toss-up between Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, Adam Sandler (leading this pack), Billy Crystal and Julia Louis Dreyfus.

damn pretty hard to choose. a lot of them are very talented and did really well, or will do really well.

Eddie murphy, adam sandler, mike myers are my top 3 picks...

I'm probably going to have to pull a name out of a hat from those 3 to choose.

Many of those people listed were not cast members. They may have been guest stars at different times, but officially they were not part of the SNL crew. Steve Martin also was never officially a cast member, just a repeat guest.

for anyone that doubts Mike Myers, remember, he's also Shrek, another hugely successful series. And Eddie Murphey is Donkey, right?

See, and I voted for Phil Hartman, he was all over the place doing voice overs, NewsRadio, The Simpsons (Troy McClure), and numerous movies. But now that I think about it. Bill Murray, shame John Belushi had to die.

Ben Stiller and Mike Meyers are on the top of my list. Both have pumped out box-office hits with replay value. Adam Sandler humor is getting old; OKAY, you're a retard, I got it during your stay at SNL and I don't need a reminder in your movies.
