Hi guys. I have an ASUS p3v4x MOBO with a slot1 p3 650. I recently got my paws on a socket p3 733. I would like to use it but never really delved into the socket chips since the pentium classic days. What slotket do you guys recommend? I was looking at the ASUS ones being that its a ASUS mobo. Are these any good? Are any slotkets any good? Or should I just buy a new mobo? Thanks guys.

I've used ASUS, ABIT, MSI, IWILL, & a couple generics, & the Iwill Slocket II was my favorite.

Yeah. I love my ASUS board. In fact, I love ASUS! I also have the ASUS 6800 DLX DDR Geforce vid card. I am overall impressed with ASUS products. I guess its a toss up between the Iwill and ASUS slotket. I dont overclock at all because basically I never saw a need to. All runs just fine and fast enough for me. Although, i did manage to get the p3 650 up to 915mhz once! ;)
Now if only WinME wouldnt keep giving me BSOD everytime. I dont know why I went that route. Win98SE was fine, but NOOOOOO, I had to get WinME. You'd think I'd learn by now after doing this for 15 years. Thanks for all the info guys.

I have a P3V4X also, an advice go with the lastest ASUS Slotket go look at their page to check out what it is.

I've tried many from different brands and none of them works properly with P3V4X, the main
problem is the cpu temperature monitoring lines...

The ASUS slotket works best with the P3V4X. I have a P3V4X and have tried the Abit, MSI and Asus ones and the Asus is a hell of a lot more stable.
