I bought Legendary on sale and said to myself "ok, this game is praised up and down by a million million people, I'm going to give it a try and like it." Turns out I got about 20hrs in and I just don't feel like playing it any longer. Its a great quality title, it just doesnt grab me in any way that makes me want to keep playing. Honestly, I'm not really sure why, it just feels like its missing something to tie it all together(imo).

I've started 3 different times. The last time I made it about 50 hours in before I lost interest. And to be honest, the up front time investment on installing the mods kept me going for a lot of that.

The main quest in a Bethesda-written game (vs. Obsidian's FO NY) is going to be bland, you just need to accept that.

It's the world, the random encounters and mini-dungeons you find traveling through it, and the sidequests that make it worthwhile. That and the chance to install serious and silly mods if you feel like it.

I just did the Riften orphanage side quest last night and after
killing the child-beating Grelod "the kind", one of the little girls talked thoughtfully about how killing one person can make a huge difference, and how she'd remember this for later.

I burst out laughing at the dark humor of that :)

lol yeah i loved that quest.

the main game is not the point of it. the fact you can explore, do side quest, and pretty mcuh anything is the fun.

I tried finding .torrent with a PREINSTALLED STEP or similar and I can't find crap.

I refuse to spend the time and resources to follow their huge guides. a mod pack is what there needs to be. it's asinine that there aren't any.

they refuse to

they also apparantly are against any modders making a torrent file themselves either and might ban them or something

So they aggressively keep people from using their FREE mods only because it comes in a pack? Are these children?. Back in 1996+ modders had no problem having their free work in a pack to gain notoriety.

I will not be reinstalling sky rim or any mods if I cant get a precondition pack that handles it all.

Because they all think that theirs is so special that it should be considered separately, and you should view their individual sourceforge page to download it. I don't know if they get paid based of those sourceforge downloads or not.

gaming nexus

and no the only download from them is actually a manual

and they tell you to download it to support them

they want you to download all of the hundreds of mods from each particular mods homepage on the nexus or elsewhere

there is no reason why an author of a mod would feel that they got no recognition just because the mod was combined into a single download

Actually several HAVE said exactly that, and several mod authors only allow custom STEP patches if they still require the original mod. Pre packaged torrents have several problems, ranging from them being set up wrong to lack of credit to the mod authors to creating/exacerbating bad user issues. The mod authors put in hours/days/weeks of hard work, they can choose how to distribute. As a final thought, complex missing in Skyrim is NOT drag n drop, it requires thought and trouble shooting.

they can choose how to act but that does not mean that there is any rationale behind their decisions or opinons

if someone does not accurately credit a mod author as part of their package then you can make note of that

their mod is still available seperately and that package does not somehow ruin the original mod and prevent the mod from existing or the mod author from getting credit for their own mod

one thing that i have constantly noticed from time to time is that many of the mod authors are of the same character as those who run oppressive publishing monopolies

and i have heard various bad thing about the gaming nexus as well
