AsusA8R32-MVP Deluxe
Athlon 64 4000+
1gb pc3200
Radeon x1900 XT
Audigy ZS 2 Platinum
80gb SATA
120GB ide
1 DVD-burner
1 big case fan

I believe the powersupply I have in there now is a 430w Antec. I've been having some strange problems and i have a feeling its the psu. would you suggest an upgrade?

It is possible that it is a PSU problem (kinda on the boarder of being plenty and hardly being enough), but I would check out other possible problems before you get a new PSU.

You should buy 460 or 500W PSU its good to have some headroom if you want OC😀
Look at Seasonics if they arent out of your budget.

What sort of problems are you having? Random boot downs are sometimes psu symtoms, something like studdering and freezing could be a memory issue.

It's resonably reliable, updated with the most recent components and such, however, the problems may not even be psu related, we don't know, OP hasn't really given much indication of his problems other than he thinks he needs a new psu. Help us out here goe602!

I sometimes get random powerdowns and lockups. Not very often but I do get them. Just a couple days ago it started taking a long while to boot. I turn it on and all the fans and everything come on but nothing happens for maybe 20-30 seconds. Then i hear and DVDburner kick in then FINALLY the asus screen pops up. Sometimes it never gets to the asus screen and just sits there doing nothing, but its on.

I built this computer maybe a month ago and it's really upsetting me that it's acting up. I know I could just take it in to a local shop but I'd rather do it on my own.

Extreme.outervisions PSU calc is pretty unreliable. It sounds like you have a PSU problem ,OP. I recommend a 430W Seasonic S12.

Try defraging your hard drive and if that doesn't work I agree that it is probably a psu problem. My two cents:
quiet: seasonic s12 430w
best value: enhance 5140gh
modular: enermax liberty 400w
budget: fortron/sparkle fsp400-thn
