What size pole do I need? (re: skiing)

Ski season's coming up again, and I need some new poles...

I am 5'3" (5'5" in ski boots)... what size ski pole should I purchase? In cm or inches... 48"? 46"? 52"? 54"?

I'm going to try and purchase them online in time for my first ski trip this season... December 5th @Mammoth.

When measuring for ski poles make sure you have your boots on, or add an inch or two. With your arms bent at a 90 degree angle from the floor, like your sking, measure from your hands to the ground. This will give you a good fit

I'm particularly excited about the whole ski thing because the boy will be my first ski buddy here in SoCal... last season, I was the only skier amongst snowboarders, and as much as I enjoy boarding, skiing will always be my first love. :heart:

However... it looks NOTHING like he does now, and when I found it, I did a double take. Let me see if I can find it... and then decide whether or not to post it...

Last night, I saw "Kill Bill" with my friends Jason (27) and Gabriel (22). We were eating leftover Halloween candy in the car, and Jason would only give me "Sourpatch Kids" and "Junior Mints".

All of them rib me about "not keeping him up past his bedtime", etc. etc... both my male and female friends have been pretty brutal about it, but I laugh it off... they'll meet him soon enough, and hopefully the teasing will stop (or at least die down a bit).
