A couple friends and I are thinking about flying somewhere cheap this weekend since nobody has work or school on Monday for President's Day. Anyone have a favorite site for buying last-minute plane tickets or hotel/flight packages? I've been using site59 but I'd like to see if there's anything else; expedia/travelocity/etc. haven't produced anything yet. Any suggestions?

Or.....what would be the best way to do this in person? I.e. show up to O'Hare and say "Where can I fly for $xxx today?" Anyone actually done that?

Gratis.

the cheapest tickets will be directly from the airline and not a 3rd party

just search all the major airline sites and buy the cheapest you find.

Most airlines have a weekend fares at a reduced rate. I am somewhat partial to United's E-fares.
