The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion. Started the game when it first came out and now have 160 hours into it. Still play from the same game saves.

Probably Total Annihilation. Played a lot of single player against cheating AIs using the uberhack mod.

CIV easily. I, II, III, IV all added up would probably destroy the play time for every other game ever played combined by me.

Doom........I probably had that on my computer for 5 years.......hell I kept the computer intact just to keep Doom and all the mods I'd downloaded from BBS's (remember those?). The single player maps/mods were inumerable.

Lately though it is Stalker SOC.

Morrowind. Three years of play. Though Civ would probably beat that, if you added together all the different versions. And I've been slowly collecting Morrowind mods, considering a re-install and play through as well.

Lately though it is Stalker SOC.

I still have an unfinished STALKER game from last year. Kind of forgot about it. I should go back and re-visit it.

If they came up with a STALKER that was truly open ended (you could get housing, maybe a weapons workshop, hired companions, maybe some weapons crafting and trading) and kept on generating random missions that became increasingly difficult I could play a single game for a long time.

It would be cool if you could take over the entire zone.

Idk, The Sims? I hate single player games usually. :p

I could literally see myself still playing this same game (off and on) a year from now. I only have 7 or 8 factories spread out over 3 sectors, and I haven't even explored the entire map yet. I figure I'm not very far into the main plot yet, but that doen't matter since it just seems to be a way to get into the various aspects of the game.

I probably played Morrowind for 70-80 hours; Gothic 2 took me about 75 hours.

So, just out of curiosity, what's the longest amount of time people here have played the same single player game.

Does anybody still have a really old game going (like Daggerfall)?

Btw, 50 hours in 4 weeks is nothing... I got over 80 hours in L4D in less than 2. Sadly, I hate the game now. :p It's really boring.

That pesky job of mine keeps interfering.

I'm probably over 80 hours by now though. There's stretches in X2 that are pretty slow going.

I still haven't advanced the main plot since my original post.

Thats because it doesnt take THAT long compared to a lot of other games.
And like I stated before, you can seriously shorten play time by using the cheat to run faster. Much of that games length comes from dashing back and forth between places.
