Yeah, a monitor is the only thing I'd (possibly) be willing to spend that much on. A few years back I spent over $1000 on a 21" CRT, but right now the only monitor I'd consider is a 19" LCD (because 20" ones have too high a resolution), and you can get them for $460-500ish.

Right now the most I'd spend on a CPU or video card is $300-400 each, absolute maximum. Unless I could spend $800 on some CPU or video card that dosen't exist yet. Like magically buy a 7Ghz P6 or something from the future :D And even then, only if I could also magically get drivers for it from the future.

Well... I already have a 21" monitor, so I would probably buy a really high end video card, though I would probably still have half left after that so I would get a couple more harddrives. Spending $800 on any part other than a monitor is stupid.

If comp speed isnt an issue, get a 19''LCD and a nice quality speakers... though if you are a gamer, id save and wait untill later.

I dont think tht ur rig is all that great ...

mobo grade $130
cpu upgrade $220
ram upgrade $200
video upgrade $150

sell off the old ones on the FS/T forum, put it together with the left over $100 and buy a decent 19"

Id pay $800 for a CPU. Great 22" CRTs are under $700. But Id take 3 19 inchers over 2 22 inchers.

LOL same here :)

I would never buy one part of a computer that cost $800. That's like buying a top of the line graphics card with custom cooling solutions... not efficient.
