I believe the one on my brothers Tempo is on the passengers side, the one on my dads Explorer is on the driver side.

Passenger side, where it should be.

No chance of slamming the door into those concrete pillars ;)

Where is the "I have to check my dashboard every time because I can't remember" option?

Behind the plate. Never have to worry about which side of the pump to pull up to. Downside is that the young gas monkeys have a hard time finding it.

<--Wishes he could pump his own gas

Passenger side...not sure why they do it like that on some cars, this is the first car (a Mazda 3) I've ever owned like that. I suppose there is less chance of banging the driver's door into the gas pump when you open it...who knows what they are thinking.

Old Car - Driver
New Car - Passenger

Still get confused sometimes since I haven't sold the old one yet and still drive it (gotta keep that battery charged!)

Seems like the gas tank lid is on the left side if the vehicle is foreign and on the right if it is domestic. Anyone know the rule?
