What should Qx6700 temps be with stock cooler?

I am thinking about getting the QX6700 and a BadAxe2 board.

I want to use the stock fan, and keep the system quiet. What temps can I expect to see with no OC.

Thanks

about 45C idle, and 70C load.

perfectly acceptable, but its a shame to spend over 1000 dollars on a cpu, and then get greedy with the heatsink. spend a few more bucks and you can run 3.2 GHz stable 24/7 with even lower temperatures.

I can keep 3.2ghz stable with a Ninja Scythe and 120mm fan. It is very silent since the fan only runs at 1500-2000rpm...

My core temp with 4 instances of folding at home running (100% load for weeks) I see temps around 64-66c....

This is a power hog. It will really drag the boards voltages down. I have to set it to 1.40625v and it will load at 1.32v...Prevous C2D's on this same board set to 1.45v in the bios would only load to 1.42v....

Duvie, how do you keep such low temps? I have my QX6700 watercooled and overclocked at 3000 (300x10). Idles at 50 and goes up to 80 when i run 4 instances of prime 95 for several hours. I also have lower voltage (1.325v).
Temperatures reported by Core Temp.

I think you must have a problem somewhere terentenet. I've got a qx6700 running at 3.3 (300x11) using a zalman 9500 and at idle its 43-45, haven't tested it properly under load yet but I sure hope its not 80!

Mattmos, i can't figure where the problem might be. Thermal compound is properly applied, the waterblock is properly seated, the pump works fine. All should be fine. Maybe it's my processor.
What MB do you have? What's your BIOS Vcore voltage?
Thanks

EDIT: BTW, i keep Thermal control, SpeedStep and enhanced C0/C1 state DISABLED

Have an intel badaxe2 - upped the vcore to 1.375 from 1.35 stock, and memory from 1.8 to 2 (rated at 1.9 so safe I hope) - this is first time overclocking, so have been quite conservative with settings...

Matt, i really don't know why my temp are high. I saw others with bigger overclocks and lower temps. Maybe my watercooling setup is not good for this processor. It's Asetek Waterchill with the single 120mm fan radiator. Perhaps the 2x120mm fan radiator would fare better.
Anyways, I'm in the process of getting a Vapochill LS (approx 2 weeks). I only have to figure a way to mount it under my case.

Spoke to soon I think - was doing some rendering this morning so processors were taxed pretty heavily and using coretemp I saw them peak towards mid-70s - not happy with that so have lowered multilier for the mo - at 3ghz getting mid-60s under load. Maybe I will invest in a Ninja+fan myself...

I'm using a Zalman CNPS9700NT

I'm at 266x12 = 3.2 and I'm getting 35/60 (nvidia monitor) and 50/75 (core temp)

I think thats pretty good considering im running a closed case with a 680i board and two 8800 GTXs. My airflow is damn good.
