Dear Sponsor Child:

Today i snorgled my bun bun. Tomorrow i might head to the club and try to talk to a girl. After that... i'm gonna try to figure out my taxes. Hopefully i don't get ass-raped by the IRS when i do it wrong, so i can continue to sponsor you.

How was your day?

Many Snorgles.

FBB & BunBun

This is the perfect letter. But change "ass-rape" to "butthole-reamed" because ass is a naughty word.

sigh...

seriously though this is what will work best:

1-
balance a healthy amount of humble elaboration on the minutia of your day but make sure to include references to big ticket items such as sites. focus more on cultural items such as places, movies, and shows rather than big ticket material goods. that said an iphone comment or too can't hurt. Make them feel like an equal by not oversimplifying things and maintaining an informal but non-pandering tone.

2-
she'll love to see a sense curiosity about her life but focus on personal and non-material subjects such as family and friends. try not to mention any material objects outside of basic toys (ball, stuffed animal). Pander to the simplicity and freedom of focus that the child might have with their family / friends / care takers / aid works. Try to make them feel special but don't push it to the point of jealously.

3-
try to find a good source of positive reinforcement so that they can have a point of reference to follow by example. if you don't have a lot to work with use examples from those around you / people you know or those in the news

my point is: be nice, be descriptive about your comparatively busy life, pander slightly when appropriate, and try to balance a focus on both of you so she has some cool stuff to read and talk to her friends about and other items that she can reflect on and feel good about as well.

Hi,

I just had dinner, or half a dinner actually. I had a large pizza with everything and then some ice cream. But I bought too much and ended up throwing half of it away. What did you have for dinner?

Made me laugh.

Be nice. He has a full week ahead, serious stuff to do, to think about, to analyze and weigh, to compare to what he has now and where thinks he might go, what to do, what to do.

Yeah, the Nikon D7000 is out.

I think it will depend on her age and what she actually wrote to him, neither of which he has given us. As long as he doesn't talk about what he posts here will be a good start.

Of course, he has plenty of experience with stuffed animals, snorgling with his dad and wearing women's clothes. :D

I'll start it for you....

My Dearest Maria,

I know I have been writing you a lot recently (3 letters a day isn't too much, is it?). I just have a lot of things on my mind. Since the day I recieved that 5X9 black and white photo of you on the swing in your villiage, I haven't been able to stop thinking of you.

You are so different than the 11 year olds here in the US. I dont care what my family, Columbian adoption laws, or INTERPOL think. Someday we will be together forever. 7 years will seem like an eternity, but we can make it through it.

It's good to see that FBB is sponsoring one of our Mexican friends in Colombia.

Have you thought of just printing out various threads that you have posted and mailing those to her.

You could send one everyday, the girl could enjoy the daily bouts of uncontrollable laughter as well as the shock and awe you seem to dish out on a regular basis.

Probably. For a troll FBB has the worst follow through, although he usually returns to his posts in the Garage.

Dear poor child.

Get a job.

Love FBB

Dear Poor Child.

How is it in your country? Are you like the poor kids on tv? Do you have a bloated belly and have flies buzzing in your eyes and nose? I have sent some insect repellant and a fly swatter. How is the food down there? I threw out half a pizza the other cause it had anchovies on it.

love FBB

If you don't have any exposure to children and how they think/things they think about/their worldview then maybe pass the letter onto someone else who might be interested. This little child might be hoping you are the brightest thing in her dark world, and that can become a tremendous responsibility, also something of a burden to have her confide depressing things in you.

Really, if you want to make her feel better about her miserable existence...Just forward all your threads to her.

Dear Sponsored Child,

I grew up in a fairly well off neighborhood, in a condominium, near a golf course. Since i was young, and Asian, my parents forced me to do well in school, they forced me to live by their ways, but they always kept my food warm, and plentiful.

Now i live in California, my camera cost more money than you have seen in your life, and i have a motorcycle. I regularly tour million dollar houses, and i take dating classes...

Do you get to eat anything ever?

I'll translate it for you. I'm Colombian so I know the dialect and regional expressions of the Coastal region of Colombia, which is where Barranquilla is.

Btw, did you know that Shakira is from Barranquilla. You might want to mention that in your letter.

Probably. For a troll FBB has the worst follow through, although he usually returns to his posts in the Garage.

Thing is, FBB's gift as the grand master of Trolls allows him to just start a thread, go away, and it becomes an epic 300 post monster.

Contrast this with Nik's troll ability to derail a thread with asinine, circular logic. It takes him dozens of posts to effectively troll. That's a lot of effort. FBB is much more efficient because he can do it with one post!

although FBB isn't really trolling, it's just how he is in real life. he eventually returns to the thread with some insane picture that proves it, like a high centered ninja 250 on a dirt road or him hugging a stuffed mouse
