I have an old video card that I use for my dual monitor setup and the contacts that go into the PCI slot are kinda dirty. What should I use to clean them with? I was thinking rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip.

<< Thanks, I thought about that too. Will it leave a nasty residue? >>

should be fine. i clean contacts all the time with an eraser. if there's "residue", you can just wipe it off with your fingers.

Use a CLEAN eraser. It won't leave a residue. Brush it off with a clean toothbrush if there are any particles.

Rubbing alcohol is fine as long as you make sure it's dry. You can use a commercial spray on contact cleaner available at electronics retailer or Radio Shack. If you use an eraser, DO NOT use the kind that is on the back of a pen. They are MUCH more abrasive and you can remove most or all of the metal.
