Ok, I have a stack of mail ordered games sitting in my hooch this fine Friday afternoon in Afghanistan.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (really cool and fun but very difficult so far, even on normal difficulty setting)
Dragon Age Origins & the Awakening Expansion Pack
Supreme Commander
Supreme Commander 2
Dawn of War Platinum Edition (comes with all the expansion packs)
Splinter Cell Double Agent (fucking sucks. Already tried it. Not playing it anymore.)
Far Cry 2 (already played and beat far cry 1, was losing motivation towards the end.)
Ghost Recon & Ghost Recon Island Thunder
Battlefield Bad Company 2
Wolfenstein (the most recent one)
Batman Arkham Asylum

Keep in mind my internet connection is poor, so there's no multiplayer. I'm thinking I'm going to push through Ghost Recon AW2 even though it's driving me crazy getting killed and having to reload every 2 minutes. But what should I play after that?

How does PhysX work with a single gpu? Can I still use it? I have a gtx295 back home and I could just set one core for physx and the other for graphics. But my laptop only has a single gtx260m. I know Batman is one of those Physx games.

Most of those games are multiplayer. Batman is prob the most fun of those if you jusde on just singleplayer. If you like RTS dawn of war is great, at least you can play the AI.

Dawn of War (original) plus Winter Assault is probably the biggest amount of fun you'll get out of that list of games imo... but I am a WH40k fan (books, universe, not tabletop/models)

A solid RTS provided by Relic featuring squad based melee and ranged combat and vehicles with reasonably strong storylines.

Dark Crusade and Soulstorm are less story-driven and fought on a large Conquest Map ala. Dune 2 style with territories conferring certain benefits and all 9 races battling for supremacy. Personally not my favourites but the banter and exchange of verbals is most certainly fun and provides some solid immersion.

Dragon Age and BFBC2. That way you can get your excellent story and monster slaying with a little sprinkling of random violence against your fellow man and fair share of crash to desktop.

Dawn of War! At least play through the original game - it was fantastic. Winter Assault was fun too, but the story wasn't quite as polished. Like Elcs said, the expansions after WA don't add real storylines, but the inclusion of more races is nice. I've spent hundreds of hours just playing skirmishes and multiplayer games of DoW, and it's easily one of my all time favorite RTSs. I tried DoW II, on the other hand, and hated it.

Oh, and mix in some Batman while you're at it. It's a quick game, but a very well made one.

Dragon Age but stick with v1.02a. Both patch 1.03 and the expansion is a disaster check out thier forums for more info

Sure, online. The single player was extremely dry and repetitive. The squad that you can control is kind of fun for a while, but the plot is about as thick as a piece of paper. "Random terrorist group is trying to kill people! You squad of ghosts is the only one that can stop them!!!!" Every Ghost Recon game has been this way. The online multiplayer is a blast to play, but the single player gets very old and repetitive fast.

The only games that you have that really have a great single player experience are Batman and Dragon Age.. Both of those games are single player only and you'll spend a good amount of time beating them.

Bad Company 2 is very fun online, but I could not get into the single player. If there was a story line, I didn't find it. Running around and shooting people just because you're told to doesn't float my boat.

The story in Far Cry 2 is absolutely nothing like the original. The only reason that it's named Far Cry 2 is to lure in people that liked the first game. It is extremely repetitive. Find diamonds, unlock guns, kill random Africans that are trying to kill you for unknown reasons, do missions for random Africans, rinse and repeat. There is no driving story line.

Wolfenstein is also very repetitive. The creators of this game managed to make a game with a very open world, but the only thing that you find when you explore it is more people wanting to kill you. The story is loosely based on the previous Wolfenstein games, so if those interested you, you might like it.. Otherwise you'll probably loose interest in it quickly.

The rest of the games that you have (excluding splinter cell which you said you weren't playing anyways) are RTS games, which, IMO, are best played online. You may find the single player story in them interesting, but the real hot spot in those games is online. Many hours of game play can be had with a good RTS game online.

I definitely recommend Dragon Age. Batman: AA is the only game that I would consider somewhat comparable without a steady internet connection and then only if you have a controller.

I've had zero problems with the 1.03 patch in a complete playthrough of the expansion and am now halfway through the main campaign with a third character. Take zebra's comment with a grain of salt or do some research on it before sticking with 1.02.
