Just see which one fits your hand best, oh, and make sure it's optical. I'm not against mice w/ "balls," but w/ optical mice, you don't have to clean the "balls" on a regular basis.

Yea, I'd also get an optical mouse, but can't afford it...


Um...arent some less accurate than others? And i don't want to experience too much lag.

There's a difference in Hz and DPI...I'm curious which is good

An excellent mouse is the Logitech Mouseman Cordless. It's optical and responsive for $50 at local stores.

I'd recommend a cord mouse due to the fact they are lighter and don't need batteries. If the cord gets in your way you could always get a bungie like everglide.com offers.

Also if your at a Lan party and everyone has the same cordless mouse things will get messy 🙂

I tend to be (or *am*) very Microsoft-biased, but I prefer the Logitech wireless optical mouse. I tried it at a local store and it felt VERY nice.

My Intellimouse Explorer is kinda dying off. So I plan to replace it with a Logitech. 🙂

i have used two different logitech cordless (wireless) mouses ones older and different style than the other but i have zero complaints about both...

i heard optical wireless eat batteries... but i just heard that.. don't know from experience

Ugh, wireless mice I've used have a low sampling rate, both optical and ball, both logitech. I've heard the explorer wireless isn't that great either. I'd go with a good Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 with a cloth pad (its relatively smooth, the feet are different and work well with cloth pads) because it tracks better (I'm using gray, and it NEVER skips, even moving extremely fast). I can run at 200hz, but windows 2000 doesnt work with 200hz in quake3 very well, (both logitech and MS mice, my keyboard goes crazy, dunno, weird). Its 6000dpi, compared to 1500dpi on the older versions of the MS explorer's and older intellimice. The razor boomslang 2000 I think is 2000dpi, as a comparison. On a lot of surfaces, though, it doesnt work too well. I have a white everglide pad, which it slightly skips on - but I'll be dyeing it a different colour soon, hopefully it will work then.

I'd say that the MS Explorer 3.0 is the best optical. Wireless, I dunno.

I wouldn't buy one. From my experience with a Microsoft Optical Wireless, the response time is horrible, and they are very jittery. They are extremely bad for games, and the prodigious nature of the response makes everything impossible to complete.
