What should I look for in a laptop for my mom?

Dell Outlet tends to put up more coupons around holidays and towards the end of its fiscal quarters (I think the 1st quarter FY 2021 ends for them sometime in the first few days of May 2020).

However, you need to track prices for what you might be interested in because they also have a nasty habit of increasing the cost of the systems at the time they post coupons.

Well, I have a Lenovo S145 with Intel Celeron dual-core 4205U, and 4GB and a 128GB SSD, and with a "real SSD", running low on RAM isn't SO bad. I get up to a Commit Charge of 6GB with Firefox, and I barely notice any slowdown. Of course, it's wearing down the SSD somewhat unnecessarily, but ... as long as it's replaceable, that's not the end of the world.

I would search YouTube, see if anyone has a "Motile 14" Ryzen RAM upgrade" video. There might be one out there. Then again, it might be soldered on.

45% off refurb dell, today only. Mostly 6th gen intel. They do have some 14" 1080p i5 6440HQ quad-core laptops, though the 12.5" laptops are dual-core.
