If they're as valuable as american express rewards points, you're probably eligable to get a blank CD or two by now.

I have over 20K I need to spend as well.

As for what you can buy, anything Sony.

30,000 points puts the price tag around $300 that he will be refunded for.

Is there a dollar conversion? Like 10,000 points = $100 or something?

I used about 12k last year. I wanted to use up more, but the 5 disc DVD player was out, so that wasn't happening. I did settle on a VCR -- our 12 year old finally went out and we needed to transfer from video to tape. The package came in two days (being less than 12 miles from the deliver center helped, I think).

The way it works is he can buy anything Sony from any authorized retailer.

He will get a refund on his card for the dollar value allowed by his points.

For example...

$200 item = $200 refund, plus 10K points left over
$500 item = $300 refund, 0 points left over

Probably here... that's pretty cool... :D

You are not limited to the catalog.

In fact, buying from the catalog is the worst way to go since you pay MSRP - Buy in the store, & then get the balance refunded to your card.

Wow. How long does it take to get 502,000 Sony points? If I used my personal credit card for work expenses maybe I could.
