Hi everyone,

I have a problem in my life...I can't decide what to do with it. I'm a freshman in college and I want to major in something that has to do with computers (either computer science or computer engen.) I love computers, but I suck at writing programs, so I will probably choose to major in computer engen. What can I do with a major in computer engen? I don't want to be a computer repair man all my life (sorry if I offended anyone.:() What I really want to do is work with designing better or new components for computers. However, what happens if I suck at doing that? Then what will I do? What else can I do that involves computer hardware?

If you work for a hardware company, what did you do to get there and what is your job? Please answer. Thanks.

P.S I will probably edit this later because I'm rather tired.

computer engineering follows a very similar curriculum to electrical engineering for the first couple of years. I'm EE, but i know several comp eng'ers that have gotten EE-related jobs...they just specialize in computer hardware, embedded microcontrollers, etc. So i'd say comp eng is a good choice, and has a much less programming-oriented approach than CSE.

yesyesyess... MIS, that's what you call it. or CIS. whatever your school calls it, that's what it is.
I'm MIS, and I love being in this major
comp engineering can be hard too... my friend is dying in his software engineering class...
