I live in a small town (pop ~300), with a small school (50 in high school), I have been asked to girl ask guy dances twice, both where about the same year (sophmore) and have not been asked since (senior), There are more girls they guys here and I have taken on to every single dance to date. My problem is I dont know that I should ask someone to the Senior Prom (last dance), I get the distinct impression that girls really dont like me and as such probibly dont want to be around me. I think that If I dont get asked to the next girl ask guy dance that it is a pretty good sign that they really dont want to associate with me. If I did ask it would be a senior, and with it being a senior I think that it would ruin their night for the fact that they got asked to by the most unattractive boy in school. I hate to make people feal bad and am pretty sure that all seniors will be asked if I dont ask.

I wish it wernt this way, but when there are more girls then boys in a high school and I am the only one not asked to a dance, well, I feal like when I ask, that I must be ruining everyone elses fun just being around.

If there's a man shortage you could look like/act Rodney Dangerfield and still be considered a prize.

Well, if you sound as whiney and pathetic in real life as you do in this thread, it's not surprising that the girls don't want to be around you.

Grow some balls and a backbone.

Get some self respect and dignity.

And ask the hottest chick in the school to prom.

Give MTV a call and ask them to get a spot on their show for "Made." You could become really popular and prolly Prom King.

Maybe MTV can do a two-in-one show where two fatties hook up and goto Prom together.

On the contrary Im a skinny Pathetic tall guy. And as I have said I am no affraid of rejection. I have asked the hottest girls in our school the the dances, and they have all said yes. My balls are just fine thank you. The fact of the matter is I still dont like making people feal uncomfortable. and I feal that is precicly what I'm doing when I am the only guy not asked. The girls here are nice and refuse to turn down people that ask them to the dances, I feal almost like I am forcing them to go with me when I ask and I dont think that is right.

Just ask! Ask more than one. do not grovel, even if you are a fat pimple farmer. Just go for it. Your going to hear yes, no, maybe so, all your life. Get use to it. My g/f and I are in our midfifties..We laugh so hard over this stuff. Shes a 9th grade teacher and we go to all the high school dances and some of the games. You are not alone, most young men deal with this, they just don't post here about it. If your a crazy person you will post a pic..

EDIT: Tall pathetic guy stop feeling sorry for yourself. Who made you god. You are not resposible for anyones happyness but your own. Be happy and try not to hurt others in your quest. If they go out with you its because they want to..End of story...

First off. listen more in English class. I know this is an informal forum, but c'mon!

and secondly, is it common practice for girls to ask the boys for all dances? Even the senior prom? In my experience the boy asks the girl to the prom. I can understand there being special "Girls ask Boys" dance, but for the senior prom the boy should ask the girl! Even for your own sake. When you get out into the "real" dating world, if you are sitting around waiting for the girl to ask you out, you are going to be more disapointed then now!

You seriously need to build more confidence in yourself. Besides your apparent inability to write coherently, that seems to be your only problem. If these girls didn't want anything to do with you, then they wouldn't say yes when you ask. Period.

Get off the computer/video games and get out once in awhile, then then show the girls that you ARE a cool person.

Seriously though, I think I went to maybe 4 dances my whole high school career, of course I did work alot too, but still, everything turned out fine, I dated a ton (not literally!) of girls in and after college and finally found my wife and weve been married for 6 years already.

It will be ok, high school isn't the defining moment of your life or anything.

I see what you are saying.

You feel they are saying yes to be nice, but really they don't want to go with you. Well you know what I have to say about that? Tough Schit. you said yes! you go with me. but you know you don't have to ask somebody right away, you can talk to them first, and test the water. Kind of give them a hint you are looking for somebody, and if they say well I am looking for soembody too, then ask. Or if they mention somebody else is looking for somebody then move on to that person. It's not as hard as you are makeing it seem!

you live in bizarro world. If they say yes then go. I don't know why you're second guessing yourself that they pity you and that's the only reason they said yes. Maybe they do like you or wahtever. I don't know.

How can you live in a town with so little people and with a higher proportion of girls than guys in the HS and have a problem asking a girl out? Nobody wants to sit home alone on prom so surely someone will say yes.
