You're accepting and enabling his bad behavior if you continue to hang around him after he pulls crap like that. Call him on it - break off the "friendship". I guarantee he can't sabotage anything with you anymore if you break ties with him. But the ball is in your court - you choose whether he continues to do it to you or not... cause you can't expect to change other people.
