ie spiderman from the Aug 1990 McFarlane series, etc..

It looks like they're pretty much worthless... I have not open them up since the 90s. They were bagged but hopefully not destroyed as they sat in my basement for over 20 years.

luckily i dont have a lot of these, maybe like 100 of them, xmen, spiderman, wolverine.

Wait until you're ~50 and sell them. Even the otherwise worthless comics will be worth something for nostalgia purposes. 100 comics is easy to store.

I don't know if you have kids or plan to have some, but that would be something cool to leave for them.

Yeah i have a bunch from like 87-91 range. Mostly first edition type comics i never actaully read. Need to find a way to unload them for hopefully some profit.

I have maybe 300 or so in a couple of banker style boxes. I like this idea. I doubt I have any that are worth anything either. There might be a few in there. (I was one of the kids that waited for the death of superman comic books.) I checked out some of my titles, and found a few for decent prices, but none of them were actually selling, so I doubt they are really worth that.

I actually only bought 2 of each, so one to be read and the other one sealed.. was poor high school kid back then, luckily I couldn't afford a big collection.. I do miss reading them, you kinda grew out of them and stop going to the store to pick up new ones like big bang theory guys.. hahaha

i think one of my fav series was wolverine and how magneto pull the adamantium out but a few issues after that I stop collecting.. haha

I have a bunch of comics from around that time period. My hope is that in 50 more years, people will have lost them, parent/wives thrown them out etc, that mine will be some of the few left.

IMO, they can't be taking up too much space. I would think they'll be very collectible in 30 years or so.

Firewood, print runs from that era are in the millions. Maybe in the year 2150 they'll be worth something. Now the current era, they wised up and made them more collectible by dropping print runs.

They're worthless. Tons of them were made, tons of people bought them, and tons of people are holding on to them hoping they might be worth something some day. Flooded market, just like 90's ball cards.

Same here. I have some that are listed on eBay for quite a bit (death of Superman, Superman Reborn, first issue with Doomsday, Death of Robin, etc...), but nobody buys them. They list for $100-$200, and not one bid. This tells me they're pretty much worthless: an item is only worth what people will pay for it.

My son has been drooling over the prospect of ripping into my collection, but that kid destroys everything he touches. Guess I'm keeping mine for a bit longer.

How long before so many people realize this and ditch their collections that they become valuable again? 50 years? 100?

I had Spawn #1 - 20 in excellent condition.
But then my cat got in the drawer they were stored in & shredded all of them & pissed all over them. Only 2 of them remained in excellent condition by time I found them.
