They have no other way to do it. They are not mind readers. They ask you simple questions that require a simple answer. You can be as polite as those missionaries are in asking you in the way you say no to them, and they will respect that.
If you have a problem with a missionary knocking persisitantly at your door, these people report to some one. you can always find a way to air your grievence if you are so offended by calling any LDS Church office. They have the numbers listed in the phone book in probably every locale in the nation, and for that matter, in the world.

The fact is most of you are exagerating your experiences and offer up offending solutions to this phenoma. Give it a rest. They do not come with any weapon larger than the Word of God. You can accept it or reject it. If you accept, they are there to help you on the way to HIs Glory. If you reject it, then fine. Mormon missionaries will much rather spend time with those who want to recieve the fullness of the Gospel than wankers who think its chic to claim no faith or feign a belief in some other church just to avoid looking at themselves in the scope of the big picture.

If any of you want to know more about the Church and it's way of doing things, then ask a missionary. The crap you read in this forum could not be farther from the truth then if the devil himself proclaimed it.

Some of you should be ashamed. Not one of those missionaries, or Jehova's Witnesses ever came to your door wishing harm upon you, yet you wish harm upon them. That is repugnent and dispicable. You are the ones who most need the service of a missionary. They can introduce you to a Gospel that will change your life for the good in so many ways. How about letting God into your lives? Or is God to much a burden for you pea brains to comprehend?:disgust:

People who do not want to hear the Word of God cannot be forced to listen.

Cultist handbook? Man you haven't even read the first page of it. I've read every sort literature you could imagine, and the book of mormon is far, far from a cultist handbook. It's actually rather interesting how it coincides perfectly with everything that happens in the bible.
then tell them to come back and then you can have a discussion. At least you do not see too many scientologists around they are truely lame just go to Clearwater FL they practically own the whole town. dressed up in airline garb freaky!
I have no idea what you said here.

I don't wish harm upon any of the members of the god squad that bangs on my door. I will make it clear, however, that they better not come back. Once they take it upon themselves to enter my space, they better get ready to rumble (especially if they are repeat customers).

For the record:
1. the Book of Mormon had over 4000 errors (grammartical errors, spelling errors, factual errors, mathematical errors and captilization errors) in it.
2. It directly quotes almost 300 verses straight out of the King James version of the bible.
3. Every version of the bible that i have read ( and i have over 40 versions) include Revelation 23:18-19 Which says "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
"
4. Also according to their other literature (Doctrines and covenants, and the Pearl of great price.) they believe that they can become a god and have celestial sex with all of their many wives to populate their own planet.

and yes i do study different religions. This one is quite interesting. and yes according to over 40 versions of the bible this IS a cultist handbook.

Ok, here's what to do. When they come again ask them for a copy of their (false) bible, then after they get it out set it on fire and start stomping on it. Then tell them they are going to hell for blasphamy.

Then, they started talking about religion, and asking me questions about my religion. I told them that I didn't believe in God, hoping that they would just go away. They left after a few minutes.

Well, yesterday I got a Mormon bible in my mail box, and they stopped by later that afternoon to see if I had done any reading in it!!!! At that point, I just gave the bible back to them and told them to leave. They were hesitant, but they left after I shut the door in their faces.

Now, today at 9 frickin' AM I hear someone knocking on my door. IT WAS THEM!! I just didn't answer the door. They left a post-it note on my door saying they they stopped by and wanted to invite me to church! Will it ever stop[!!! I just want them to leave me alone!

 :frown:

I always Invite them to come to mass with me and mine. Somehow they end up cutting to convo short and leaving....Ungreatful little punks

Well SaltBoy is not the only mormon among you

Im 17, and i myself plan on serving a mission. I think if somebody were to be honest and just tell me that they werent interested and that i shouldnt come back, i would respect their wishes and move on.

Invite them in for a chat. Offer them some iced tea that you just brewed. Tell them it is decaffinated. Then as they are almost through drinking, then spring it on them. It really isn't decaffinated and now they are going to hell for it!!!!!!

bwahahahahahaha!"

Now this has been blown out of proportion by leaps and bounds. The church has no official statement on drinking caffeine, just some paranoid mormons are against it because its supposedly addicting
rolleye.gif
, but the LDS church has no problem at all with drinking caffeine

As a Mormon, and former missionary, the missionaries don't leave their apartments before 9:30 am... so either they were up early, or it was someone else...

Love to see the ignorance flowing in this thread...

I find it funny that no one is willing to admit falw within their religion. Christians try to tell Jews theygot it wrong, moorns try to tell christians they got it wrong, muslims tell hindus, etc.. And EVERYBODY goes around preaching high and mighty and trying to convert everyone else, sometimes they need just to chill. I think almost all the religions are cults, because by my view all of them are just people tryin to spread their own beliefs to others, not just believe their own beliefs and let it be. It is ok to share your beliefs, when asked, but not to solicit them. That is very much a cult. And almost all of the major religions are gulty of this.

... Man you haven't even read the first page of it.

Neither have you, motor mouth. You have checked out anti mormon liturature and are spewing filthy lies from it now.

And by the way, when you go quoting the bible in a public forum, prepare to back up yor theory. When was the book of revelation written, and by whom? Was it the last written book of the bible, assuming all is in chronilogical order?

Oh, and by the way, in the preface of the bible you probably read, it proclaims to be a translation, not the original manuscript. I happen to read the King James version, and you? It is all translation from hebrew and greek text handed down through the centuries. And you may be surprised to find scriptures repeated throught the new testiment, so how would that differ from repeating transcript in the Mormon Church standard works? Get a clue , jerk off, it doesn't mean squat.

Also according to their other literature (Doctrines and covenants, and the Pearl of great price.) they believe that they can become a god and have celestial sex with all of their many wives to populate their own planet.

Funny, I'm LDS and I have those books right here. Back up your filthy mouth, you self rightous POS. If you have read all this, start quoting chapter and verse.

I'm waiting.:disgust:

As I thought, another maggot, talking trash to bolster his own ego. Heres a clue. You don't know jack about the Mormons. If you did, this post you made never would have come from your keyboard.

Wow, what a response. It took a while to read the whole thread. I think I'll just politely say "While I think what you are doing is great, I have decided that I'm comfortable with my beliefs right now. I think it would be better for you two to focus on individuals who are in meed of your help, and not me." :)

No, all I have to do is find a way to get rid of my nice guy syndrome and grow some balls! :)

You didn't bother reading the thread, did you?

As he said, he told them he wasn't interested, he gave them back their book when they send it, and still they came. How would you react if some Al Qaida members were on your doorsteps for 3 days straight trying to recruit you to fly into the White House, after you told them to piss off the first time?

No is no. How hard is that to understand?

P.S. Is it normal for mormons to get offensive and insult people?

Personally, I make no bones about it and I tell them......... be they mormons or jehovah's........... I'n not interested and to have a nice day........... they generally leave me alone except the time they came back with someone that was chinese (I am chinese).......... Affix a sign on your door that says "no solicitation". You can buy these signs at many hardware stores. If they still don't leave you alone, start accusing them of trespassing.

I had this happen to me once, while a missionary, I just acted like nothing was wrong, and stood at the door talking to the guy...after about 30 seconds, the guy was so embarrassed he invited us in so his neighbors wouldn't see him naked. He quickly grabbed his bath robe and covered up...sometimes you just have to call people on their bluffs...

I'm surprised that no references to orgazmo have been made so far... with that said.
I'd go along the lines that of others, if you can see your tv from the front door, put on some nice hard core pron and open the door in just your boxers and a dishwashing glove (think tyler durden from fight club), or talk to them seriously and debate the hell out of them and plant the seed of doubt, (not good if you don't know jack about theology), or offer them to participate in a foursome with you and your girlfriend or boyfriend (for added shock appeal)

I've been looking forward to being able to do this but they never come by and we have a jehova temple about 3 blocks away and every once in a while i'll see the lsd's riding there bikes, but they never stop.

"oh that's my dad he came to pick me up for choir practice, i gotta go. Jesus and I love you."
"jesus and i love you too."

oh btw, I'm catholic if you had wondered

Yea..I see the same types in my hood as well..they all wear similar suits..and carry a brief case. Many drag their kids along all dressed up and the kids carry kiddy sized briefcases..kinda funny. Their harmless. I think it's an initiation or they get points for a better pew in church or something. In a way their kind of good to have around. It means you live in a fairly safe neighbourhood. You'll hardly ever see them in disadvantaged poor neighbourhoods..they want to bring people with money to church. Not somebody looking for a handout.

Those were Jehovah's Witnesses. You'll never see little kids (even with their parents) that are Mormon missionaries -- look for guys and girls around 20 years of age. Also, Mormon missionaries carry backpacks, not briefcases! :)
