Well then dress her up as a Geisha. While I would like to go to many of these places, my wife being with me is eliminating a good portion of the suggestions here 😛
If you're in Kyoto, definitely check out Otsuka in the Sagaarashiyama area. Open for both lunch and dinner, but you need a reservation through your concierge. Fantastic beef (Kobe-quality at working man's prices) and a great shochu selection.
Also, Kendonya near Fushimi Inari has an excellent curry beef udon.
I was in Kyoto a few days ago. Got a stomach virus. 😀 My sister, a chef, bought a bunch of knives from a place that's been in business for like 600 years. Thanks! Please if you guys have anymore suggestions of what to do in the Kyoto area including food or sights let me know. We are pretty empty on what to do outside of common sights. Also going to make 1 day trips to Osaka and Nada.
