What should I do about this?

I just received another stick of 512MB Level II 3200 Mushkin RAM from newegg, and the heat spreader on one side is a little bent, to the point where its not touching the last RAM chip on that side. Booted up and the RAM count is fine. Everything seems to be ok.

Should I send it back? Does that heat spreader really do anything? What would you do?

I'd send it back. I didn't pay full price for a product with a flaw.

can't bend it back without taking it off, and it seems to have a thermal adhesive on the chips.

I kinda feel the same way as minendo.

My Barton 2600+ is runnin at 2185MHz(11.5x190) right now. I'll run memtest overnight andPrime95 Torture test tomorrow, and if I don't get any errors, I won't bother sendin it back. It has lifetime warranty anyway.

personally i wouldnt even bother sending it back sense the heatspreader doesnt do much anyway

only thing is that it may reduce resell value in the future

I ran memtest for about 16 hours and torture test for a few hours, and had no errors. I'm not gonna bother sending it back.
