I wrote an article on the different devices and other items that one should carry with them on a regular basis. I would love to hear what you think should be on the list. I will reply with running list after some suggestions.

Depends on the occasion...

Always - cellphone
Travel - cellphone, laptop and/or tablet, camera, external battery pack, cables for everything/adapters

IT infrastructure support.

I don't actually need all this crap for my job. I'm just a gadget hoarder and always think... "what if I need that one app on that one OS?". And I just like toys. I have a big heavy Dell XPS backpack I lug around.

lol, awesome.

i just carry my phone day to day. don't have a bag I take with me everywhere.
on road trips I take my verizon hotspot & a bunch of extra chargers.
 
Wallet, keys, cellphone.

Sometimes headphones. Sometimes Meenova card reader (has my entire music library on it). Sometimes external battery and/or charger. Sometimes Kindle.

Sunglasses might be a good idea.
 
It's interesting to see what people use! Flyertalk has some interesting discussions too, but I have a Cocoon Grid-It 12x8 organizer that has:

- 7500 mAh battery pack
- 32gb USB stick
- 2x microUSB cables, 1x lightning cable
- Canon S95
- (for travel) UE Triple.Fi 10 Pros
- (for travel) 4 port Anker 36W charger, for regular work I just stuff my TouchPad barrel charger

In my pocket is my Nexus 5 and iPhone 5 (work). I typically carry my Nexus 10 for travel also.

But, yeah, im in the same field as you and my bag of tricks is nearly like yours. Thank God devices are much smaller now. 15 years ago my laptop weighed 15 lbs, my blackberry and PDA were massive and my pagers were huge. I looked like a retarded Batman with all this crap on my belt!
 
keys, wallet, phone, knife, gun, smokes/ lighter.

for work i also carry my laptop case with 2 lappys in it, a metric ton of cables and adapters and lots of tools and spare parts in my truck.
