50"+ DLP/LCD TV vs. new computer

I have a computer which doesn't boot anymore (rig in my sig) which I could replace for about $1100 with a much better computer. In the meantime, I'm using my laptop which runs the only game I've been playing lately, WC3.

Or, I could replace my 26" LCD TV with a 50"+ DLP/LCD TV. I could probably sell the 26" LCD to cover part of the cost of the 50"+

Which one would you get?

Why won't it boot?

Because if it would boot, there would be no reason to think about a new computer rather than the TV.

Get a Samsung DLP. I have one and I love it.

50 inch.

But if it was me personally, I'd go for the computer. I would save a bit, then sell your LCD and maybe buy a 40 inch t.v for around 900 bucks or so. (projection)

Seems like either the motherboard or hard drive. Hard drive is only about 4 months old, so I'm guessing motherboard. Guess I could buy a cheap one to tide me over for a while.

If I buy a tv from Circuit City, is there any reason to not get no interest financing for 24 months? I realize I'll probably get charged insane interest if I let it run past then.. which I won't. Any other reason?

Make sure that paying it off fully whenever you want is an option. Other than that, you can probably haggle a good price with that as well, since they think they're going to get you on interest.

I would probably go with the new computer, but I don't watch much TV aside from DVDs, and even then the quality is better on my 19" LCD than it is on my 25" TV. So I vote for the computer.

Figure out what's wrong with your rig and fix that, then use remaining $$ to get a projector
