What should I buy my brother for Christmas?

Usually, for male friends and family, I usually buy them IZOD clothing, however, I know that isn't my brother's preferred style, and he is very picky with fashion, so I rather not go the clothing route. For his recent birthday I emailed him an Amazon gift card, however, I am not sure if I should get him the same thing twice. I prefer not to give cash gifts either since I generally only give those to people in need.

What would be your suggestions? Perhaps a restaurant gift card for one of his favorite restaurants? Perhaps I should ask him what are his favorite restaurants.

If you don't know him well enough to figure out what to get him, just give cash.

Just go down the line with the gift cards: Amazon, Macy's, Nordstrom, Home Depot, Lowes, Best Buy, Target, etc. You can't run out, and should take you no more than 5 minutes a year to do your Christmas shopping.

Try talking to him to get an idea although that is scary. :D

Also F clothes as you need to get him something good like a snes classic or such.

Perhaps a good book, and a gift card to go along with it :)

Super Sawzall, he'll find a use for it. Trust me, if Stephen Hawking had a Super Sawzall, he'd find a use for it.

What if he commits suicide, is resuscitated, and then consents to engage in anal intercourse?

Just wondering how much of this is within his control.

How old is your brother?

I second the gift card or cash suggestions. Nothing beats cash for Christmas, especially as you get older you really don't care what you get (as opposed to spending time with family). At least cash is always useful.

The thing I don't like about cash gifts is that they are not thoughtful. He already has money, and I would rather give cash to somebody who really needs it, since that is actually thinking about the person since the person actually needs money. At least gift cards are more thoughtful since I care for the recipient's specific interests.

Take him out to a nice dinner so you can talk and find out more about his interests and hobbies, and next time you can get him an actual present.

You say "thoughtful". Well, then put some thought into it. How the heck are we supposed to know what your brother would like? Talk to him some more, hang out with him, or even just straight up ask him what he wants.

We could probably come up with good suggestions if we knew at least what his interests are, if the problem is you don't know specifically what to get (e.g. he's into cars, but you don't know anything about cars and you need some ideas).

That reminds me, ATOT Secret Santa is coming up.

I don't really understand buying a self-sustaining adult a present since presumably he can buy what he likes and doesn't already have, but if you really want to get him something, donate some money or volunteer some time in his name.
