With the 5800Ultra I use 12X10 0X 0X, or 10X7 up to 4X8X, depending on how much I never, ever want to see it move off my 85Hz VSynch.
I used to run it at 10X7 4X8X all the time with my 9800 Pro.

Also... CAPTURE THE FLAG mode is the BEST! I really cannot stand ONSLAUGHT at all.

1280x1024, no AA/AF on a GeForce FX 5900 @ holy sh!t settings.

well you can see more detail at higher resolutions but you don't any larger or smaller feild of view at any 4:3 resolution.

OMG - is THAT what the commentator says from time to time?! I have heard it said quite often after i have just fargged someone, and often wondered wot the heck is being said and WHY! There is no visual display of the message as there is with the likes of KILLING SPREE et al.

Why is FLAK MONKEY spoken?!

LOL - i think i get it now! Does that only happen with the flank cannon or does getting crazy with other weapons produce similiar outbursts from the commentator? LOL. Now that i think about it, i have rather gotten used to playing with the flank cannon - it is def my preferred weapon given the choice :)

But as stated in THE BOOK OF FIVE RINGS

"You should not have a favorite weapon - to become over-familiar with one weapon is as much a fault as not knowing it sufficiently well"

Hmmm... maybe i better start using that damn bio-rifle more

On my Radeon 9200 128MB I play ut2k4 at 1600 x 1200 with 2x AF 3x AA It looks good to me so it is enough for my card.

The bio-rifle can be AWESOME if used correctly. But it's usually best as a devastating insta-kill weapon, then switched out to something else quickly to take out anyone else in the area.

I've had some good luck with the lower-end weapons. One time I was playing deathmatch, I killed someone with the Enforcer, picked up their Enforcer and killed a couple other people with dual enforcers, then got the bio-rifle and insta-killed the rocket whore who WAS kicking everyone's butt :)

so my good sir, does AF become apparent at 1024x768 ??
Yes but that's about the minimum resolution you'd want to go down to.

anisotropic, how is that pronounced? a-ni-stro-pic ??
I just pronounce it exactly how it's spelled.

1280x1024 on my LCD running a 9800 Pro.
Just 2x AA; 4x AF
Settings normal with map detail & a few other things set to high i think (i keep fiddling with them).
About ~ 60 fps online usually.

I've got a 2800+, and a 5700u. I run it at 1024X768, with no AA/AF, and normal detail settings, I can't tell the difference between high world detail, and normal, so I just leave it. It runs GREAT! I can't wait to get the full version :)

'You have only the demo?

It runs well on 64 MB vid cards; you'll find the full version sucks up a lot more power.

They are the same size when using 800x600. They are just made of less pixels... You can aim exactly the same as you do at 1600x1200. Actually, you can probably aim better at 800x600 because your FPS will be more consistant. That 22" monitor must be nice though.

Still, its not all bad. Played a CTF UT2k4 game last nite that lasted the full 30mins on the level MAUL, and put up the highest score with 224 points :)

Try playing 1-on-1 Joust with a full server. You will get over a thousand in score.

I have - and its dumb as hell. The amount of skill required to amass such points is minimal to say the least - you just pick up the rocket laucher and keep your finger pressed on the trigger button. Having said that, up to 4v4 does allow for some skill. Still - its dumb and gets boring fast :)

MAUL, MAGMA, GRASSYKNOLL, COLOSSUS and NOV2k3 >>> all excellent CTF levels

I agree with you on 1-on-1. However Maul isn't much better. It's basically a flak spam fest. For most people, the objective is to get a flak and then go spam the other team's flak before they can grab it. And then spawn kill people with flak. Yawn. However, I agree with you on Grassyknoll. That's a good map to play.
