1280 x 960 with 16x performance AF.

1600 x 1200 gets a little choppy in the heavier maps like the Ice Tomb.

i see sharper edges with AF on, i notice the difference but it aint huge. my bro on the other hand cannot tell the difference betweem AF on and AF off @ 1600*1200.

i guess it all boils down to how perceptive you are to detail

Holy Sh!t indeed - i run it at 1280x1024, noAA, x2AF, medium detail and without most effects. I find that for most of the time thats about playable with 40-70 FPS. Its the lows that i hit from time to time that really mess up game play. Running it on an o/c'ed 9800SE (clocks faster than 9800XT) but alas only 4 pipes - unlocking the other 4 gives loadsa artifacts. :(

Looking at what settings some of you guys play at has just depressed me somewhat >>> I reckon my P4 2.0A o/c'ed to 2.4 is what is to blame and bottlenecking stuff somewhat.

Still, its not all bad. Played a CTF UT2k4 game last nite that lasted the full 30mins on the level MAUL, and put up the highest score with 224 points :)

BTW - i put up my UT screeners to show off to my bro... he seems to think i suck at games ;)

any chance you would post a screen shot with stat fps on of the demo onslaught map, standing at the very center control point and looking across to the red base? i'll bet your framerate is a lot closer to 25-30fps than 70.

Try playing 1-on-1 Joust with a full server. You will get over a thousand in score.

I play at 800x600, all settings at low, and all features off. I have a GF4 4400. When a scene that requires a lot of polygons needs to be rendered, the FPS are always high enough so that it doesn't bog down or lag. The most important factor is minimum FPS. The eyecandy distracts, so it is disabled for that reason.

double kill, multi kill, ultra kill, mega kill, mmmmmmonster kill, ludicrous....HOLY SH!T!!!!

i play 1024x768.....character and level detail high, world detail medium, physics low, fog nearly off, and the rest on high....get 20 -40 fps :(

that is in onslaught and assault the best modes i think

I have - and its dumb as hell. The amount of skill required to amass such points is minimal to say the least - you just pick up the rocket laucher and keep your finger pressed on the trigger button. Having said that, up to 4v4 does allow for some skill. Still - its dumb and gets boring fast :)

MAUL, MAGMA, GRASSYKNOLL, COLOSSUS and NOV2k3 >>> all excellent CTF levels

resolution doesn't change the size of the players, just how many pixels they are made of.

1024x768, everything at lowest/off. 40-50FPS in DM and 30-40 in ONS. At everything medium +trilinear +dynamic lights I get 30-40 in DM and 20-30 in ONS, the latter of which is unplayable.

(Yes, I plan on upgrading the video card, it's just that money thing holding me back.)
