What screensaver do you use?

I suddenly felt like this was an interesting topic. Must be something in the water.

And the proper question should be: "Do you even use a screen saver anymore", because I can't imagine anyone does, except maybe on a media center hooked up to a plasma TV...

So yeah, I just have my screens set to shut off after a while, which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't so usually I just put them into standby using the button. Used to have a nice hotkey to turn them off, but that only works with Eizo, and not with NEC....

Why wait so long? I have 10 minutes to monitor off and then sleeps after 30 minutes

I work from home a lot, and sometimes I'll go afk to go to the kitchen for lunch, coffee, or whatever... since my home office is next to the kitchen, I like being able to glance up at the monitors in the other room just to see if there are any blinking lights (unread IM's)... 10 minutes and the screens would shutoff when I'm halfway through lunch.

2 hours for sleep is because I like my torrents to stay running when I'm out and about running errands (but after 2 hours, I'm obviously either in bed or away from the computer for the entire afternoon)

Johnny Castaway is a screensaver released in 1993 by Sierra On-Line/Dynamix, and marketed under the Screen Antics brand.

The screensaver depicts a man stranded on a very small island with a single palm tree. It follows a story which is slowly revealed through time. It takes many days to catch on to the story. While Johnny eats fish, builds sand castles, and sleeps on a regular basis, there are a number of unusual events such as the island getting crushed by a ship that Johnny attracted, Johnny getting tied up, and a mermaid coming to the island.

Wow, Johnny Castaway! I used to love that one!

At home my computer just goes black.

At work we have a mandated company screensaver set by GPO. Scrolls all kinds of company advertising type stuff on it.

I frequently have my television hooked up to the laptop I use most often. It's a plasma, so I use a screen saver to prevent my desktop or something being burned in. 2 minutes, ribbons (I think it's called).

I turn off my computer when I'm not using it. When I'd prefer to leave it on (ex. going to a meeting or have a long running process open), I lock my machine and turn off the monitor(s).

About the same here on my big on extended to the LCD 47 on the side, but with WIN 8.1 I just pick a directory and let em rotate around on both as wallpaper.

Kind of is, it's always just there.

Not really a screensaver.

Usually just turn the tv and monitor off when go to bed, TV not even on half the time.
