If I'm not there, why should there be anything on the monitor? Much better and cheaper to just shut the thing down or put it in sleep mode.

I prefer the pretty colorful SETI graphics, so I leave mine on that who cares if I lose a WU or two.

my dad has the same one, and damn those fish look real.
i've been through many screen savers, but now i just turn off my monitor when i'm not using my computer.

Don't use one, no reason to. If I'm leaving the computer for more than 30 minutes, I shut the system down.

Why should I let the Delta 38 scream if I'm not around to listen to it? :p

I have the Matrix one, but if I know I'm going to be away from the puter for a while I turn the monitor off.

I don't use a screensaver since I got only an LCD monitor and thus I use a monitor power saving mode instead. AFAIK, screensavers don't help with laptop or desktop LCD screens as the backlight is still used.

With the advent of Energy Star, Green PC, and power saving modes the screen saver became obsolete and is of little more than entertainment value today. I just use DPMS power saving mode and set my monitor to go into standby at 10 minutes idle.
