I already plan on joining the military so college money is not important to me...

Good luck finding any place that will rent you an apartment. You can't be legally binded to a contract (lease) until you are 18.
Just curious, what can YOU do to make living at home more tolerable? You know maybe your parents are looking for a way out themselves. Maybe YOU could make their lives better. Just a thought.

I was basically on my own at 16 having a part time job to get me through highschool. Then I enlisted into the military at 17 (Delayed entry program - Air Force) It was very difficult to make ends meet, but I got through it all and now after several years of hard work and pounding out the college, I finally landed a decent job.
Want out? See if your parents will sign at the recruiters office and once your 18, your out of there! Nothing they can do to stop you.

I agree with all the people that say you should get into the Military. Going through Boot Camp will be easy compared to your life trying to support yourself at 17. Whatever decision you make in the end, best of luck to you
Best thing to do then is to find a friend who is old enough to sign the lease, live with a buddy for a while...probably a year, until you are old enough to sign your own lease.
You still haven't told us why your family life is so bad.

Enraged does live in a low cost area. $200-250 sounds like a stretch for a 2-bedroom apartment but rents in upper central PA are nowhere near the $750-$1250 you'd find here outside of Philly. If you get the legal minimum car insurance coverage, you might pay only $200/year. I lived in State College, PA for 5 years and you could insure a car for under $300/year there. That's not even the boonies anymore.
Unless the home situation was abusive, I'm pretty much certain that you would be better off at home - for the time being - than moving out on your own. There are just too many pitfalls if you go that route. When you graduate from high school, then you can go the military/college/ROTC route and take charge of your life.

I seem to think that to become emancipated you have to
1) be pregnet
or
2) be able to finacially support yourself
How you go about doing this is your own accord. I dont know how you would actually leave the house. Im not sure if you can just walk off and leave, or if you have to have some kind of official thing done. But if you can get pregnet, its a set deal!
