Denny's...

About 75% of the truck stops out there...

I don't know... I've probably had bad service at almost every restaurant I've been to at one time or another, it just seems par for the course. We get bad service or bad food somewhere, we wait 6 months or so and try it again (usually, if the food was good but bad service. If it's bad food... that's it.)

Although there is the occasional waitstaff that is just a round peg in a square hole, so to speak, IMHO bad service is a result of bad floor management. If the managers aren't out on the floor checking with the customers, or if they allow mediocre service or screwing around from their waitstaff... that's what you get.

Pizza Hut in Connecticut. Was never a problem in the Western NY area. Quite frankly, I noticed that people in Connecticut are extremely lazy.

Was reading some bad customer service stories on reddit and this came to mind.

Buffalo Wild Wings, every single time I go whether its on game day or not, has the worst service ever. My drinks never get refilled, my drinks take forever to get to my table, the food takes 30-40 minutes to be done and for some reason its not even hot when it gets there. This is from multiple locations. Ive since refused to go which before I only went because my friends did. Started buying their sauce and making home made wings for game days instead.

This very accurately describes Boston Pizza. I hate that place so much. The food is ok but the service is just horrible.

Hah, it's funny about Buffalo wild wings. One opened up near my folks' place and I wanted to try it but I read so many bad reviews I actually decided not to, so it's been open for a year or so now and I just can't be bothered to go.

*insert asian restaurant here*

Asians restaurants usually have grumpy looking waiters, but the one thing I do like is that you can ask ANY of the waiters for service. They're standing around somewhere. Waiting on your 1 server to come back while 5 others walk by is just ridiculous.

If you frequent the same asian restaurants and get to know the waiters and kid around, they become very friendly toward you.

If one is consistantly going back to the same place that is terrible:

1) it's really not, but they enjoy complaining about petty shit
2) there expectations of service are greater than the price point they are buying
3) they are full-on retard.

It just seems weird that our expectations of McDonalds far exceed those of Boston Pizza.
McDonalds - things are prepared in order. The person who orders first will likely receive their food first.
Boston Pizza - totally fucking random. I order a salad. My friend orders a salad and a pizza. Her salad arrives at least 10 minutes before mine does.

I don't eat at McDonalds often, but many times I have seen the 2nd or 3rd person getting their order prior to the 1st person.

It depends what you order.

Famous Daves. 2 hours minimum for a meal there. Tried it twice, won't go back.

BWW by us is pretty good, though we go at lunch so they know most are in a hurry.

Lenny's sub shop, seems like if the owner is there everything is done perfectly, when he's not it's a crapshoot, sometimes they screw up and it's great and other times they mess up and it's horrible.

Which leads to the question of why you keep going back. What incentive do restaurants have to offer good service if idiots spend their money there anyway?

No restaurants consistently give me bad service, fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. I don't give them a chance to do it consistently.

OH PLEASE!

If he went once and swore never to go back you'd be giving him shit for making harsh decision based off one experience.

BWW near me is awesome. I have gone 3-4 times and each time the service has been great and the food hot and correct.

I give have a 3 strike rule. I have 3 bad experience's in the restaurant i don't go back again. I can't think of any place that gives me bad service time after time.

Also, Ruby Tuesday. I rarely go but every 6 months or so the wife gets a Buy 1 Get 1 Free coupon thing so we go in.
Same here. Two instances; the first time it was my order that was screwed up. No repercussion. The second time both our orders were mangled and she didn't get her drink refilled.

According to her "That place is dead to us." We'll see when the next BOGO coupon shows up...

Boston Pizza was random. Out of the 3 times I went there, the 1st was terribad. My co-workers insisted that wasn't normal, so we went back.

It was okay. Both service and food.

Also the founder, never even visited Boston.

Ruby Tuesday's has generally been pretty good to me as far as service. I dont like much on their menu.

In fact now that I think about it the only place that has never disappointed is Logans Roadhouse. That was where I had my first perfect steak. And every other meal is fantastic and the servers are always on top of things.

No, everyone deserves a 2nd chance. Nobody deserves a 3rd or a 4th. If you get crappy service at a restaurant three times and still go back for more then you're just monumentally stupid.

So you agreed with me, then proceed to argue something I never said.

If you are used to Morton's, Ruth Chris (to use two nationally known names)...Logan's will really disappoint especially looking for that perfect steak. That said, while I don't picture you a traveling steak connoisseur; I have known people that will probably have far more spending power than I will ever have land in some dive/unknown/etc place and had the best time of their lives.

I was just at Morton's Steakhouse in Ft. Lauderdale yesterday. Expensive, but the service is attentive and all the food is perfect. The sad part is all these great restaurants have to fully describe the temperature of a steak because so many grain-feeders think their well-done/heat lamped to death steaks have been medium or rare. Still you will have the 'hillbilly' table whining once their plates come "THIS AIN'T NO MEDIUM, I CAN STILL SEE PINK!@@!@!!" or the best "RARE! THIS IS BLOODY!"

Well done steaks can be very good still at premium places. Occassionally I ask for a medium-well or well done steak. To do it right it takes time. Chances are if your steak is costing under $20, well-done = leather or charred heavily.

I had the petite filet, their Morton Salad, some potatoes and green beans and took a dessert home to my wife (I wanted Creme Brulle, but that is the one dessert they can't send home so I took key lime pie and she loved it). It's in the brain damage money section for me, but I know people that eat at this level each night.

Four Seasons places have had the best service. I remember growing up and witnessing 3-4 waiters replacing ashtrays when even one ash fell in them and no drinks ever getting empty. The level of service then versus now shows how poorly our economy changed to give everyone a chance at some kind of good life.

Olive Garden

I hate the place, but both my wife and daughter love it, so we go twice a year on birthdays. Food is rarely good, but we have historically had horrendous service.

On one occasion, we took my wife's family when they were in town. Her sister was about 35 at the time (and looked ~40,) but when she walked to the bar to get a drink, he refused her because her driver's licence was from out of state and he couldn't "take that chance" since a lot of them are fake these days. Now this was more funny than anything, but then my wife went and ordered (the same) drink, he said, "I'll make it, but it I see that other woman drinking it, I'll come slap it out of her hand." WTF? Who says that? We pulled a manager (my first time ever doing so) and asked why his bartender was threatening violence. We got some apology, but no drinks.

Another time, just my wife and I went and the waitress took our orders and.. nothing. We sat for about 20 minutes with empty breaksticks, empty drinks, and no sign of her. Not long after, I actually saw her peeking around the corner at us, then quickly pulled back. Finally, a manager came over and said the order had been lost and took our order again and promised to bring more drinks, etc. Also, not a big deal - waitress probably lost it and was too embarrassed to ask again. Not very professional, but not outrageous. The thing was, after the manager left with our orders, we didn't see anyone *again* for another 15 minutes. Still no drink refills. No one stopped by to ask how we were. There were no other diners around the same little corner as us, so no other employees ever passed by. It was like a ghost town at our end of the restaurant. About an hour in and 1 drink each, still nothing. So I put a $5 on the table and left and we went to another place. Weird.

I have found with both Olive Garden and BWW you get exceptionally better service at the bar. But the food is still meh.

I've had the same problem at multiple Logans locations. I only gave the other ones a chance thinking oh its just the one in the city I live in. Not the case. I will never eat there again.

The best tips are usually at the bar, so the best people usually end up there. Plus they'll see you staring a hole through them if the orders late.

Well, hypothetically if you ever pass by Manassas our Logans is damn near perfect. Fantastic steaks, all the other food is excellent, damn good service, friendly staff.

In fact every night the manager goes out and asks each table how their experience was. When we told him it was our first time he gave us gift cards.

A Pizza Hut in Connecticut was the only place I've ever completely stiffed a server who thought it was more important to talk to her friends in a nearly empty restaurant than actually do her job. So yeah, I agree.
