Maximum Resolution 1600x1200 @ 76Hz
Recommended Resolution 1280x1024 @ 85Hz

Run it at the highest res you can at 85Hz, so either 1280x1024 or 1280x960.
Why jump from 1600x1200 down to 10234x768?!?!
Your eyes may kill because you're running at 75Hz, and that can hurt eyes after a while, 85Hz is usually considered the "minimum" refresh rate for comfortable use on CRT's.

I don't know, I game at 19X14 @ 75Hz, don't mind it. I agree higher is always better with refresh rate though.

I believe the VESA standard for no eyestrain is 72 Hz.

1280x800 / 1600x1024 / 1650x1080 or 1920x1200 on my 24" Widescreen,Most of the time 1650x1080 or if im limited to 4:3 Ill use 1600x1200 ,it just depends on the game.

Gotta love CRT flexibility ;)

1280x960@66hz on some games
1152x864@75hz on the rest

I really shouldn't have gotten a 17" CRT. :(

But don't you find that the trade off for higher refresh rates is a slight decrease in sharpness? I think it's pretty clear that text looks sharpest at 60hz (even though the flicker is eye-killing). The same is true for 75hz vs 85 hz, with 85hz being just slightly fuzzier than 75hz.

My CRT display is only 19inch so I'm run everything at 1600x1200@75hz (2xAA and 16x anis HQ for games). Had this display for over 2 year and dont think I'm gonna replace it till it breaks. The dot pitch and balance is far far too perfect and the hundreds of other displays I set up when working at Fry's ether look too saturated, too fuzzy or too blah. Before my Phillips I had a Trinitron 22inch.... Loved it but the picture was not as good.

800x600 @ 60hz to 2048x1536 @ 75hz.

Depends on the game and the display I use.

I play 1024x768 no matter what game/graphics card/monitor. Its not a matter of what card supports, its what your eyes see. I can't stand playing at say 1600x1200, it just looks worse to me. On the same note i can't visually tell a diffrence on all but the highest AA settings in games. So no point in enabling it even on the latest and greatest card cause performance is to much of a hit. To each his own.

1920x1200, if supported.
If not, 1600x1200.

Your res isn't a waste, you can crank the eye-candy to all hell!
