Right now, on my 6800 GT and 19" CRT:

1280*960 or, if not available, 1280*1024, 4*AA, 8-16*AF. If the game doesn't run smoothly, I don't play it.

Very soon, probably on X1900XTX and 20-24" LCD:

1680*1050 / 1280*1024 or 1920*1200 / 1600*1200, still 4*AA, 16*AF

1280x1024/75Hz Vsync Triple Buffer 16xAF 4xSSAA for the latter.

You don't find vsync and tripbuff choppy and slow? I do..something wrong with way it was programmed or somthing cause I tried many driver versions...so i deal with tearing.

Basically the highest smooth gameplay that i can have.... but critically all have to be in the correct aspect ratio.....4:3 not 5:4 (no 1280x1024 shudders a little)

2048x1536 75hz
1920x1440 75hz
1856x1392 75hz
1792x1344 85hz
1600x1200 85hz
1280x960 100hz
1152x864 100hz
these are the resolutions i can stand and game at. i can not use 75hz on desktop though and font does not seem right with 1792x1344 85hz so desktop is at 1600x1200. I also like to watch movies occasionally at 1080p at 100hz. nice:) All with a 100 dollar CRT. its just a shame i can only play at higher res on older games.

Triple buffering robs the GPU of some memory, so yes, it is a little slow at times.
