RSI & Snow Patrol,

78mHz is not fast. That is 78 milliHertz, .078 Hertz! :Q

78MHz is 78 million Hertz.

Don't confuse m & M unless you want to work for the Space Program.

1280 x 1024 x24bit

I only have my refresh rate set for "optimal." (?)

I have a bran-spakin new 17" Sony Trinitron flatscreen, though, so I don't really care. :D

1280X1024 at 85Hz in 32 bit color.

Using a Voodoo3 and KDS AV-195TF....the Trinitron flat screen rules! :)

My GOD! Some of you should go blind soon.... How can you run a monitor at such a high resolution and low refresh without getting a headache???

1 Sony GDM 21" 1152x864 @ 100hz refresh
1 Dell Trinitron 21" 1152x864 @ 100hz refresh
1 Digital 21" 1024x768 @ 85hz refresh (old monitor)(linux server)

Reason that the 21" are at 1152x864? That's the closest to WYSIWYG on a 21" monitor in text size.

On my 15" at home I run 1152x864x16 @ 75 Hz. Right now at work on my 17" I'm running 1280x1024x16 @ 85 Hz.

On a 19" Viewsonic A90:
1280x1024 @ 75Hz (32Bit most of the time)

Anything below 85Hz and I can see the flicker, so anytime I buy a monitor I have to make sure that the intended resolution will run at least that high a refresh. (Maybe 80Hz would work, but it's rare to find a monitor and/or video card that actually does refresh rates other than 60, 75, 85 and 100 and above. Anybody know why? Does it have something to do with multiples or factors of the RAMDAC speed or something?)

I'm a lead in my department at work, so occasionally I walk around to make sure everybody's working and doesn't need any help with anything, and some of them are running 1280x1024@60Hz on 17" monitors, and I get a headache just seeing it from 10 feet away while I look at something else. Then I go and look up close and even leaning with my face near the monitor I can just barely make out the text that they're viewing. I honestly don't understand why they'd do that to themselves, it HAS to be bad for their vision. Even somebody with 20/20 vision should not be viewing something like that.

From Viper22's DNET stats:

<< The odds are 1 in a zillion-trillion that this participant will find the key before anyone else does. >>

That despite having a keyrate nearly twice my own, and I've got a 1 in 45K chance. Just made me laugh.

Hehe. :D Sharpkeeper,

The correcter stands corrected. ;) I should refrain from attempting this late at night, when I might get prefix-impaired. :Q

Now let me get that beam out of my eye. :)

I have edited the mistake.

Yo RSI and ViperGTS,

How can you see anything on da screen???

It's like trying to make out facial features on an ant, isn't it? I dunno, but I wear contacts and even with contacts on, at that resolution, I think it all bleeds together!

Windows was made to be small. Even 1024x768 on my 15" is painfully large. I would run 1280x1024 at home on my 15", but my monitor won't run it at 75 Hz. Only 60 Hz. :(
