What refresh rate is your monitor at?

Mine is 75hz, not much but it's on a very old 17" at 1024*768*24. What the ideal refresh (and feasible) ?

Mine is set for "Optimal". When I set it manually, which is rare, I keep it at least 85Hz if possible since I can see flicker at 75Hz on my big screen (19&quot😉. I'm not sure what my combination is capable of for a maximum, but with my NEC and the Radeon, it's probably around 110-120Hz at 1280x1024x16 (or 32, can't remember).

85Hz, anything else (to me) is either too flickery or not noticeable. I've heard the lower you run your refresh, the longer your monitor can last. So it seems a good rule of thumb is to run it as low as you can while maintaining a high level of comfort... for a lot of people that's 85Hz on a 17-19" monitor and 100Hz on a 21".

That's the highest I can get. If I goto 1280x960 or higher, it drops to 60hz.

My 19" KDS VS-195e + G400 at home runs at 1280x1024x32bit @ 85hz.

Higher is always better, I'd say. 🙂

A lot of OSDs will have a "info" screen which will tell you what refresh you're running at. Or it might give your horizontal rate (kHz). Divide this by your vertical resolution to get your refresh rate.

i.e. 77kHz at 1024 x 768 = 100Hz.
