This posting is both to brag about my overclock as well as help in choosing suitable RAM. My specs are:
X2 3800+ @2.7ghz @1.4v
scythe ninja heatsink
a8n32-sli
Antec P180
2x512 kingston valueram.

I'm running fsb @270, htt @3x, ram divider at 3/2. It's dual prime stable (1 hr+ so far). I'm pretty sure it'll go further but with my ram at 3/2 the motherboard somehow locks the setting at 1T even though I changed it manually it doesn't stick.

So what ram should I get? I would like to stick to 2x512 sticks to save money.

No one's gonna help you if you come bragging here... ;) I have my doubts about Kingston ValueRAM running at 1T, but seeing that the option is greyed out, I'd look for another BIOS revision... BTW the difference between 1T and 2T really isn't THAT huge IMHO...

Corsair XMS, OCZ Performance, but currently (because of the M-I.R.) mostly Kingston HyperX are the options you'd want to look at... Prices are very decent and these sticks will handle the 1T setting...

any ram who cares, ram speed almost has almost no effect on performance for amd cpus.

I don't care about the ram speed. I don't need to run it at 1T either. I verified it both in cpuz and sandra that my ram is set at 1T even though I changed it in the bios to 2T. It's just that it is what is holding back my overlock. Either that or I've hit the the limit on my cpu.

For a fsb of 270 or if I want to try for 280 I guess I'll probably need 466 ram. Will the kingston hyperz reach that speed. It is a pretty decent price with the rebate.
