For some reason my Radeon 8500LE 128MB wont play opengl games (Medal of Honor, RTCW, Quake3, etc.). I get this error from the log:

Ditto for the other two. I know this card can play these games. I just downloaded ATI latest driver build for windows 2000 and installed it. It plays DirectX stuff fine (warcraft III, 3DMark...), just wont load the OpenGL stuff. Its interesting....

Either way Im stumped.

Did you used to have a 3dfx card? Maybe you have some of their old driver files on there and it's conflicting. Try searching for 3dfxvgl and anything other similar and remove them. Reinstall your ATI drivers. Finally, confirm the settings in Wolfenstein and make sure they aren't set to something else, or poke around in the games' cfg files.

Nope never had a 3dfx card in my life. I did however have a Matrox g400Max in the system before, which I changed to a radeon, but that was before I installed wolfenstein (or any of the others).

I deleted the 3dfxvgl.dll file, and I reinstalled the drivers. It still wont work....

at least directx is okay.

My memory is a bit foggy, but I might have an idea. In Quake 3 settings you can pick an openGL driver. One option is 3dfx for some reason. Check to see that 3dfx isn't picked or the default by accident somehow. Of course that doesn't explain any other games, but maybe they are based on Q3 and defaulted to 3dfx in the same strange way.

All the games he mentioned are based on Quake III. I'd say PG is onto it though. There are openGL extended drivers for 3dfx, which it could defaulting to. Also I think there may be some sort of glide emulator or something (I forget), and it may be looking at something like that (but I doubt it). I'd check your games' config files though.
