What questions should I ask my interviewer?

So I'm applying for a finance position at Hitachi..and they're going to want some questions from me. What are good ones to ask?

I guess we'd need more details on the job itself. Understand as much about the position as you can BEFORE you get in there.

Well, gonna need some background info. What kind of position you applying for? Part time? Full time? Hourly or Salaried? Once we know what you're going into, we can think of some appropriate questions.

Oh right, that might help.

It's an internship position..doing finance stuff..temporary work, 40 hours a week for 10 weeks, being paid on the hour..

ask them how often you will have to service upper level management to keep the job.

He will have to service the interviewer first and then ask if he's good enuogh to service upper level management to keep the job.
It all depends on how good he is at servicing.

Ask what kind of work environment you can expect. Ideally, you want at least 100 sq feet of work space 30 sq ft of desk space, plenty of natural light, and wall would be nice. Good luck getting that! If you get all that, see if they'll give you a secretary. 😉

- Where would I be working?
- Who do I report to?
- Who / what positions will be working with me?
- What is involved in a typical day?
- Is this a new role or an existing one?
- Ask about the company history
- Ask what the company is up to at the moment
- Ask what prompted the introduction of the role (if new)

Plus case specific ones of course!

Ask them the following:

1) How much vacation will I get?
2) How long do we have for lunch?
3) Is it okay to take naps every once in a while?
4) Do you have any vending machines in the building?

If its a guy: "Boxers or Briefs?"
If its a girl: "Thigh highs or control top?"
😛

Actually, you may want to ask him what he thinks that you, the successful candidate, will be in the next five years? (job growth potential)

or,

what on your resume concerns them or wonders about? (your chance to show that weak spots aren't necessarily weak.)

"How much time do I have for neffing on ATOT?"
"Can I use advice from ATOT members when making business critical decisions?"

😉

Ask about the workplace culture/environment. If you are interested in ascending the corporate ladder, ask about the tenure of the management (how long to go from worker-peon to supervisor, etc.).

research the company. if anything strikes you during the research, make a note of it and ask. ALWAYS RESEARCH. there were some girls coming in to interview for positions here at my company and they knew NOTHING about us other than we were an ebay company.

- see if you can get a "typical" work day. or if there's no "typical" day ask about what challenges they have during their day
- possibilities for advancement. look at the long term - if i stay on through college, do you have programs for hiring interns who have been here forever, etc. also if you want to move into other departments are people open to it.
- how long does a person typically stay in a position before they get promoted up
- if they haven't gone over it, or ask them to elaborate on responsibilites. how many people do you report to, stuff like that

never ask things like salary, vacation, etc. that's more of what you can get from the job instead of what you can give to them. you're selling yourself as the best person they want, not someone who will poke along and just get paid.

Damn, was about to advice him to ask about hot secretaries 😛

You could also ask them what sets them apart from other companies in their branch, what they can offer you which others cannot.
Turn the tables, make him tell you why you should choose for them instead.

Are pants required or just recommended?

Where are the hot chicks?

Have you got a sister? Is she bangable? Can I have her number?

or just do the standard stuff and ask them about their company
