What qualifies as "hardware" for selling OEM Software?

I'm planning on unloading some OEM software on Ebay and I remembered that such sales are supposed to accompany "hardware". What exactly qualifies as "hardware" and where can I get my hands on some "untested, as-is hardware"?

Thanks

Most OEM's requre either a mobo or a hard drive. Nothing states they have to be working.

Microsoft used to require either a HD or a motherboard, but they have apparently relaxed that recently.

Now I think a CD-audio cable qualifies.

Bingo, the OEM license only applies to the OEM.

You are free to sell it however you please.

Hey you with the pillow tag, stop!

Well, I tried to sell an Office XP OEM on ebay before & it was pulled within 36 hrs. Then I reposted it with a "as-is untested piece of computer hardware" which in that particular case was a 32mb RAM pull from my Dell lappy which actually worked. I was just wondering what kind of light, cheap parts would qualify... guess I'll have to look into getting some of those $1.99 meese.

I have tried to sell an OEM copy of MS Works Suite 2k2 and they ebay pulled it down just like Hooobi's. I don't know if "including" a piece of hardware would "please" ebay. They will refund the listing fees if they pull down the auction, so you have nothing to loose.

The original rules around OEM software were that the associated hardware purchase had to be a major system part -like a motherboard or hard-drive. That was relaxed so that any hardware purchase will suffice. BTW - notes about selling OEM software (i.e. Office XP I saw in one post)... this is only ever kosher if the seller is a registered OEM themselves. You can't for example, sell on the OEM suite you got with your Dell box (or whatever) just 'cos you decide you don't want it...
