Or the music they put on the phone while on hold?

Is there a special criteria?

I was listening to Al Di Meola in my car and an ex of mine referred to it as elevator music.
If that qualifies as elevator music, than Id say that it qualifies as good elevator music.

If I owned a building with an elevator the soundtrack would be the beans/campfire scene from Blazing Saddles playing on a perpetual loop.

I don't think I've ever been in an elevator that had music playing. Usually only in certain stores and restaurants but I often can barely hear it over the ambient noises anyway.

Lack of dynamics.

In most cases, particularly for music on hold - lack of copyright.

It's not as common as it once was.

I liked the part in Devil when they got stuck and couldn't communicate and they were trying to get em to turn it off.
