Social anxiety. Not in the normal way where people are self-conscious and scared. People just piss me off. It wasn't so bad when I was younger and just spoke my mind but my wife restricted that. I have now returned to my old ways. I frequently tell people to get the fvck out of my way, leave notes on the cars of idiot drivers, etc. I feel much better these days.
that doesn't sound like social anxiety...

Idiots in society cause me a great deal of anxiety. What would you call it?
probably nothing. maybe antisocial personality disorder if it was more severe.

I have my doubts that he's a sociopath.

that's why I said probably nothing 🙂

i don't think I'd have any diagnosable disorders based on the DSM IV. Or is it up to V now? Maybe I would in that 😉

nope, it's still IV. there are only about 400 disorders at this point 😀

I think I read that ~30% of the population qualifies for at least one.

what do you call it when you never leave your house, stay indoors 24/7, have no friends and sttuter when you talk to females?

possibly social phobia.

no, that would be a fear of going outside. all in the motives.

me, I have a little bit of an OCD with even numbers/symmetry. i.e. ever since I was a kid, I always had to make my right and left sides do the same amount of stuff. inane things, like "this right foot stepped on dirt more times than the left foot *shift over*". but it only happens when I consciously think of it. =/

Probably social anxiety, though it's never been diagnosed. I just feel nervous around groups of people, especially people I don't know. I want to have a good time at a party - meet people, talk, goof off, have fun - but every time I get into a situation like that I just clam up. I know one way to fix that (, anyone?), but I don't like to drink, nor do I like the idea of being drunk. I'd like to have a good time and remember it, thank you 🙂.

I was referring to the stuttering. staying at home all the time and having no friends is likely a result of social phobia/avoidance more than it is a fear of going outside.

If it was a fear to go outside it would be agoraphobia. I had this briefly when I had bad panic attacks, I couldnt even go into public.

The first part is agoraphobia and having no friends is a result of it. The second part may be premature ejaculation.

is an excessive fear of getting a flat tire, getting lost, not knowing where to park, etc. also considered agoraphobia if it keeps you from going out? or does it have to be a fear of panic attacks?

Its usually associated with panic attacks but i dont think it has to only be with panic attack. I think if you have an intense fear of going out no matter what the situation is it is probably considered agoraphobia. Do you have any of these disorders, or think you have them?

are you getting treatment for it?

I'm certain I could find a doctor willing to ascribe clinical disorders to my behaviors, but I still wouldn't want to change them.
