What PS are you using...300, 400W...

I see the asus p4b266 and p4s333 allow for use of older ps ..... just curious what power supply are you using???

I want an intel setup and want dump my AthlonXP 1700 1650(11x150) Abit KR7A-RAID..game stable so far...I do not care about about prime95etc..though I expect as FL temps rise that I may need better cooling.....

I'm using the antec 830 also... here's my config:

Asus P4B266-C
P4 1.6 @ 2.4 Ghz @ 1.65v with stock hsf
512 Meg PC2100 Crucial (Infineon)
Geforce2 Pro 64 meg
SB Audigy
Generic Lan
Generic Modem
Maxtor 27 gig HD
Toshiba 16x DVD
Lite-On 12101B CDRW
And 5 Case fans (I got carried away :) )

No problems with power, so don't worry about it.

"Enermax Whisper EG465P-VE" is my power supply. I got it for dualie AMD's but sold them in favor of a faster single CPU.

ICantAffordIt: Dasm son! You've got quite an overclock there. What's your RAM set at? Are you running 1:1 and what's your CAS setting? Seeing #'s like that is tempting me to bump my FSB up some more. I'm currently running this:

Asus P4B266-C
P4 1.6a @ 2.208 @ 1.60 w/stock HS/F
512 stick of Mushkin High Performance PC2100 CL2 (set at 1:1 @ 2-2-3)
Gainward GF3
Bunch of other stuff... SMC 10/100, 3Com 10/100, SB Audigy, Plextor 24/1/40, Pioneer 10X DVD, etc.

hmm...i've been looking at the motherboard mon. 5 readings it it states that my voltages for the core are hovering around the 1.65~1.7 region?! i've set it to 1.5V...what gives?

and my 12volt is only doing an average of 11V...could this be contributing to my lack of overclockability over FSB133? i've heard that my psu has had some problems with the 12volt line...it used to be on amd recommended list but now it is no longer? :(

asus p4b266-c
1.6A @ 2133MHz
Enermax EG-351 330Watt PSU
2X256 Crucial PC2100 DDR

Robor: My ram is running 150 (300) at 2-2-2 with the turbo1 setting. No issues at all as far as I can tell. And I have the vcore set to 1.6 in the bios, but it seems to run between 1.64 up to 1.69 when monitoring it. I think I got a really good chip, because I didn't even try any other settings, or try going higher than 2.4 with it... I figure that's good enough for me... of course there's always the bragging rights to think about ... ;)

All I did was set my fsb at 100 to load winxp pro and once it was loaded, I bumped the fsb to 150, the vcore to 1.6 and the ddr voltage to 2.7 (I think... whatever the highest the p4b266-c will do). Everything was fine so I left it.

hmm i unplugged all 4 of my case fans and STILL my 12V line is only doing about 11V...is this enough juice or could this be why my cpu can't overclock at higher FSB?

Hen,

Did you increase the voltage in your bios? And enable the turbo1 option? And unplug any items from your USB ports?

After doing all that, you still can't hit 2.4? If so, then it may be your power supply.

i've tried upping the voltage to 1.65V...i don't want to go any higher...unless it is verified to being safe

as for usb ports i haven't had any problems with that at all...i get the prime95 errors starting around 138FSB, but my usb mouse has been working fine ever when i booted up at 145FSB

are you guys sure the turbo 1 option locks the AGP/PCI Bus? anyone know where i can find out specifically from ASUS what the three memory options of normal, trubo 1, turbo 2 do? :)

yikes! i'm getting mbm5 readings of my core voltage at 1.7 when i set it at 1.5 default! what is up with this?
this isn't just in mobo monitor either...the BIOS hardware monitor reports the same :Q

should i been worried? if it has this kinda behavior when i up the voltage as well...that could be a problem and i could be damaging my hardware :(
