just curious as to what programs people run at startup or in their taskbar. i currently run the following programs at startup:

1.) Avast antivirus -a pretty good, free antivirus program

2.) Norton Internet Security 2003

3.) Weather Watcher v5.4b -local weather stats updated every 5 mins., 14 day forecasting

4.) Statbar v2.406 -set to display my windows uptime, ram used/total available ram, cpu usage, hard disk sizes, networking traffic

5.) Naviscope 8.70 -atomic clock updates, best pop-up, ad-blocker, browser history.

6.) Leadtek Winfox 2 utility -overclocking utility for graphics card, displays gpu core temp, ambient temp, core & memory frequencies

7.) D-Color XP 1.0 Beta -for customized icons

8.) MBM5

9.) Webshots desktop

:)

Norton AntiVirus (ccapp, ccregvfy)
Intellipoint
RealOne Updater
Quicktime updater

The updaters for RealOne and QuickTime reset themselves everytime I use the programs, so unless I make a shutdown script, they're not going anywhere for a while.

By the way, how do you make a shutdown script?

Winkey
AVG
uICE

winkey and uIce greatly enhance the usability of yer system, while uIce technically can do everything winkey can, winkey is handier atm, and uIce is mainly used for my IR remote and volume controls using the numpad.

From Laptop: AVG Antivirus only but as stated I'm on my laptop at the moment and it's mostly used for Ultimate Bet poker, web, and some Yahoo chat.

Main Desktop: AVG Antivirus and some other stuff I can't remember. Will post later.

portmap
inetd
bootparamd

yeah we were wondering the same thing. it seems to start up after you run Quicktime. even if you uncheck the start on Windows option, if you run the program again that qttask shows up on startup.

That's all that's down there at start-up.

I often put trillian down there after everything is loaded though.
