What program will create a newspaper-ish thing?

I need a program that will create a newspaper-style layout. Pretty straightfoward...I'm sure there's some program from Adobe or Microsoft that will do this -- anyone know what it is?

MS Publisher, if you want to use that pile of dung. Word probably has a template for it, too.

Tried doing Word but it is an extra template not installed and for some reason it won't install it. I put the CD in the drive and it still asks me for "Office 200 CD blah blah blah"

:(

Using newspaper columns in Word is a nightmare. Publisher is probably your best bet, unless you know how to use Adobe PageMaker.

PageMaker rocks! We used that exclusively for newspaper and yearbook layouts in high school. Very easy to do columns and make a layout look exactly how you want it to. Very powerful program.

Quark. We made a lot of stuff the last place I worked. Don't know if it'll do newspaper type layouts!

It's not that bad in Word. Just plan it out first. No need for templates. Add columns or a straight-out table.

<< Add columns or a straight-out table >>

I was going to say to use a table in Word. I like them a lot. In fact, at work we have used a 3-column table to create a left text column and a right text column (center table column is the gutter). If you just keep typing into the column it will continue from one page to the next. Just keep in mind that if you want to insert a tab into your text you must hold down the Ctrl key or it will move to the next column instead.
