its not a program, its time.
Everything in linux is doable by someone with enough intelligence to troubleshoot problems and most importantly a fzcking heapload of time to deal with each and every bloody effing one of them.

If this post was serious, you've dug your own hole. You can't expect to switch OSes without some transition. And IMHO the alternatives for things like IE and VS on Linux are better than what MS offers. Office, maybe not, really depends on what you need to do with it.

If your Anand system profile is really what PC you have pretty much everything is supported. I would even bet your webcam, camera and TV card would work with minimal trouble, but cant say for sure as they're not listed in the profile.

Programming in Linux sucks a$$ (especially GUI programming).

The little programming I've done with C and Perl was very pleasant with a few xterms, vim and gdb (ddd is cool too). The only thing I really like about IDEs like VS.NET is the help, and if MS' search engine didn't suck I'd like it more.

Borland is supposed to release C++ Builder for Linux eventually, maybe that'll be enough for you.

I'm not talking about Tools (which, coincidentally are still better in Windows). I'm referring to the API provided by the OS. Users from non-MS OS's love to put down MS's integration of the GUI with the OS, but they fail to see how advantageous and helpful it is to the programmers.

Because all Windows programmers just love MFC and the Win32 APIs...

- Games
- The fact I have to install TTF (and sometimes they still don't work in the OpenOffice etc). I know its not a big deal to others, but the default fonts make my eyes bleed.
- Some other misc programs that don't work

Other than that, I like Mandrake 8.2 and hope to use it more.

Did you try this?
If you have problems with your X server or the DRI after installing the latest
drivers you can restore previous files by running the install script with the
'restore' option:

./install.sh restore

This will restore all files replaced during the normal installation.

There are a couple.

Probably the biggest thing that I miss on Linux is Morrowind. Everything else I could work around.

I like the Zoombrowser program that came with my digital camera (S110). There are image browsers for Linux, but this one is definitely my favorite way to view our digital photos and interfact with my camera.

While I 'm on my camera, the drivers for my Lexar Jumpshot CF Reader have never worked for me very well... but I'd be willing to buy a reader with drivers if this was the only thing.

But really, it's Morrowind. :) And some day when they get Morrowind working, no doubt I'll be immersed in something else.
