ok, im about to pull the trigger on all my stuff. Lets play a little game. I have an absolute MAX of $120 to spend on a power supply (just for example, I can get the OCZ powerstream 520W for 105). Whoever replies to this, let me know what PSU you would get if you had 120 bucks.

Thanks for everything

Like Galvanized I think it's best to get you PSU from the manufacture, not marketing companies like OCZ or Enermax. Most of the time such companies are just in it to make a quick buck, there are exemptions of course (SilverStone, Zalman).
As to your question, with that hardware you have a pretty moderate power draw. A good 350-400 watt PSU would run that great with plenty of headroom. Since it sounds like you are willing to spend some cash to get a good unit I would recomend this Seasonic S12.

And PSU manufacturer`s are not in the buisness to make a quick buck? rofl...wake up...smell the roses.....too funny!!
Tell me how long FSP has been in business.

Exactly my point; FSP was started in 1993. Seasonic has been around since 1980, Enhance since 1986.

The manufactures are in it for the long haul, it's the marketing companies that are often (not always) just looking for the easy, quick money.

You see I understand what you are saying and I also PM`d you....

Yet in a sense that still doesn`t hold alot of water...

Playing devils advocate...

List a few companies that were here one day and gone tomorrow that would fall into that catagorie......of being in it just for the money....

You see and again I find it ironic that such knowledgeable peeps as GY would even use that to describe PC Power & Cooling when as you said --

JEDIYoda, there isn't anything wrong with buying a rebadged PSU as long as you know where it comes from and has something to offer that the OEM doesn?t. Zalman for example make a great quieter version of a high-end Forton-Source. More often not however it's a piece of crap PSU being pushed by marketing company looking for quick money

As far as PCP&C cooling goes I don't consider them rebadged. They have their own engineers and the designs are different enough to set them apart from anything else out there. And I think their reputation speaks for itself as far as quality is concerned.

Again Operandi nice dealing with you!!

Some things never change. If you insist on not using the quote tags, are you willing to let me be truly rude to you?

EDIT: I'm only bringing it up because your posts are god damned hard to read.

I quit reading the other post at "asshat"

I was basically in your spot a few months ago. You keep talking about not caring about bling, but if you ask me the brand names, a lot of the time, are the "bling" you are paying for.

I'm probably going to get stomped, but like I posted at the start of this thread the 550W Sunbeam Nuuo is the best bang for your buck. If it isn't a great PSU then why can't most of the stores keep it in stock? They sell out all of the time.

Get one and try it out. If you don't like it I'll buy it from you for what you paid for it, then sell it on ebay or to a friend. It isn't overkill it's exactly what you are asking for. It has two rails, all of the cables are sleeved, and it's modular.

I'm not an employee of Sunbeam and they didn't pay me to say that, I'm just sick of seeing a great PSU not getting the respect it deserves from people who have never given one a try.

Snerp, thanks for the help, I looked into it, and it seems pretty dang good, everyone gave it a pretty solid review. AT 74 bucks from ZZF i might have to hold you to that deal...

Feel free to, but I must say that I know going into it that I won't be buying another PSU ;)

Snerp and thats my whole point.

Its a sad commentary but we actually have people who have such outlandish opinions myself included at times that when we see somebody who wants to buy what we consider to be a crappy PSU for no reason other than it has alot of bling or it uses what we would deem the wrong CAPs or its just way too loud we fail to understand that its not us who are going to be using that PSU. Its the person who is asking the question.

I use to be that way and still am about certain brands specifically Antec...but you know after looking at that subject and thinking about usually I now post a disclaimer such as IMO -- In My Opinion.....

The bottom line is if you are happy then so be it!!!!
