What Port Does AIM Use?

5190 is the port that your AIM client connects to the AOL server. For File Transfers and Direct Connects you are acting as the "server" and there is a separate option to specify the port in AIM. If you goto My AIM -> Edit Options -> Edit Preference, then click on the heading for "File Sharing" or "File Transfer", you should find an option for Port number to use. The port number is usually not defined and is probably picked at random normally. However, if you define one, you or your friend should be able to open up that port and connect to it.
