what plays .avi?

Might not be a divx codec, could be xdiv, divx, mp42 codec etc.......all are common with pr0n vids 😛

i don't know about you all, but my knowledge of codecs and video formats has been vastly expanded due to my relentless pursuit of pr0n 🙂

i only get sound, i thought an avi file is video. that's with unmodded wmp 8. so what plays avi files?

do a search for "nimo codecs pack" .. install that..

i dont ever search for porn! i dont look at porn!
No no, of course not...none of us look at porn, right guys?

Now pr0n OTOH, that's a whole different story...

Seems a lot of people voted in the porn actor poll earlier so I guess there are a few who are familiar with the genre of entertainment.

Do a Google search for "Nimo Codec Pack".

Download it, and install it. Your codec troubles will now be over. 🙂

avi is a broken format which encodes the audio separately from the video which is why you can get the sound but no video like that... MPEG keeps the sound and the frame together. or something.

codec packs suck

That's funny.

I haven't needed a codec since I installed that codec pack. 😕

You may have a screwed up file even if you have all the codec, in that case if it is .avi try DivFix (google it)

Before you start installing codecs willy nilly, download a program called GSpot. It will analyze the file and tell you what codecs you need for both video and audio.

BTW, ffdshow, dsp2dshow, and the AC3 codec are all I ever use except for WMV and RM.
