What places to eat in San Antonio?

Her mom just moved down there and they are visiting, any good small little place with good bbq to eat at? not sure exactly where they are in the city, but i dont know how long it takes to get around places...

San Antonio is a big city. What side are they on?

As far as BBQ, there isn't much of a selection like there is an hour up N I-35.

Los Barrios.

Been there twice and loved it. The original owner was killed April 2008 and recent reviews aren't fantastic (very limited selection that I read, however). Worth a trip though because it's an SA institution.

There used to be a place that served incredible chicken fried steak. It was called The Jailhouse Cafe. Through doing some research a while ago, the original restuarant closed and moved, but they're still around. Great CFS; buttery and you can cut it with your fork.

Rudy's has pretty good bbq. I believe they have a couple of locations in the city. Also the County Line has good bbq as well. They also have 2 or 3 locations in the city.

Rudy's is probably the best BBQ you'll get in SA.

If they are up for a burger, try Chris Madrid's.
